I’m more confident about this one than any other this season . ( defeat incoming!)
    I’m going for a 3-0 win . Goals: Kelman , Leaburn & Jones

Everyone is predicting a Charlton win which traditionally makes me nervous.

If, however, we are to start looking upwards we need to be able to handle that expectation.

    Charlton 1 - 0 Swansea

    Kelman 34

2-0 for me could be 0-0 at HT us go 1-0 and catch them late on the break for the second. As others have suggested will be super tight for long spells. Cannot wait!
  • Swansea will be tough to break down, but I think we will keep them quiet if they get close to our goal.

A grindy 1-0 win for us. COYA.

Not sure we try to break them down. Our two smartest options are to press them into a mistake and to let them come forward and then hit them on the counter. I think we’ll have 40-45% possession

In every win we’ve had this season, we have had less possession than the opposition. Swansea are 5th in the league for average possession.

I think that bodes well for us as they also have less quality than the other teams nearer the top of the possession rankings, and we’ve beaten a couple of those already anyway.

It feels like they are exactly the kind of team we usually do well against

I can’t remember the exact figures but our average possession this season is just over 40% and theirs is about 60%. No chance that changes this weekend. I am calmly confident about this one

With a week’s break from the Hull game, I agree with FA’s predicted line up, back to the first XI that he’s preferred recently.  I think both Apter and Knibbs will be key players throughout the season to come in, but neither of them can really say they did enough last Saturday to stake a claim for starting again.

Very, very tough game as we’re at home, so the onus will be on us, and expectations have been raised given our start.  Swansea are a very established team at this level and even though we’ve had a good start, they’ll see this as a game they can get a result from, especially if they want to be in amongst the play off picture.  Such a tight league and if we’re not at it, even with our extremely good home record, we could get caught out.  With 2 home games I would love to get at least 3 points out of them, as we have to keep trying to put as many points on the board as early as possible.  The win 2mo would be excellent as the confidence would be in full flow for our first game under the floodlights at home on Tuesday.  Hoping we can nick it

Team pretty much picks itself apart from the strikers. I'd give Leeeaburn another start probably along with TC. Thought Miles had a good game up at Hull.

We do break teams down, just in quicker shorter spells, it’s called counter attack and we are getting results because of it. We all know the style of play we are going to get and it’s proved to be successful. Much rather watch this than teams trying to emulate boring as f:(k Man City.

I have a suspicion Fullah will be in the 18 in place of Apter tomorrow. Apter was disappointing last week and NJ will not have liked his attitude when substituted. Fullah currently offers more in the goalscoring department.

Think this will be a game where we will have less than 10% possession but not lose.

I'd like to see Anderson given a chance. I think that he has a role to play in the squad.

Could go either way but why not the most negative of outcomes? Swansea breakthrough early then keep possession to win 0-1.

Is that serious 10%? Are we not touching the ball for 45mins at home?

Also this from the clubs website:

The matchday is also the club's annual International Supporters' Day, with more than 50 international supporters joining us at The Valley on Saturday! Special tributes and messages will be made to the Addicks' overseas contingent at half-time.

What’s with all the potential changing of squad players, Nathan pretty much picks the same players unless injuries hit, Anderson and Fullah are both fringe at best and both not really championship ready. The only players to come in will be Godden/ Edward’s when fit. Both the youngsters I can see on loan.

I can't see Swansea having at least 91% possession!

Swansea a team that has one of the lowest goal tallies in the league, so must mean a 3-0 defeat for Charlton.
  • WERE IS ANDERSON ?????
I'll do you one better... WHY IS ANDERSON!!

(Just cant get in the First Team at the moment, as he and Fullah played for the U21s vs. Millwall in midweek)

Very tricky game against a side who do not concede many goals. Be interesting to see the Orient player from last season who we were after, Galbraith, if he plays. Hoping for a win but 1-1 seems likely, Kelman at last.

At 60 minutes Nathan Jones makes a predictable substitution but then surprises everyone by trying to  start off a raucous rendition of ’Stand Up if you hate Swansea’ in The West Stand.

Galbraith played last Saturday and Wednesday so likely to be playing.
