At the game. Excellent result as Hull have a decent side. Understand the need for NJ to change things up. We did really well first 10 mins and could've been 2 up. Hull eased their way into the match, though we became sloppy with passes. Love Kane, but he was the main culprit. Thought Rapter did well initially, but he got bullied out of things as the game went on.
NJ made the changes early in 2nd half and we then saw what we'd been missing in midfield. Coventry was excellent and we were becoming more dominant. Brilliant move to put Lloyd up front towards the end and pile some pressure on.
Very good point gained, 7 from 9 in the last three is fantastic. Love this team.
  • Tough week. I think it’s fair to say pretty much most of us would have taken a point each at Ipswich and Hull but we doubled that “acceptable “ return. Pity about the sloppy goal but we can’t be 100% tight every game. Gillesphey is still well in credit. Need to power back v Swansea now.

I thought we were a bit fortunate to sneek the added time equaliser, although it was down to Nathan Jones' tactics and subs, so a very well done to him.

The players were clearly struggling second half, as they were at Preston.
So to battle on and nick a point deserves full credit.

I thought Ramsay and Jones played well at the back and Carey was our main threat and our MOM.

Knibbs was anonymous, I only noticed him when he was on the deck.
Apter gave Gilly a poor pass for their goal and then gave it away soon after before being hooked.

Coventry was quite instrumental when he came on and did well.

    Tyreece reminds me of Lisbie.
He nearly scores or assists a number of times a game, but rarely actually does.
He's so frustrating, but he has to play some part for his threat.

    Leaburn looked sluggish once again.

Kaminski, Docherty and Bell were fine and Gillesphey would have been if he had cleared Apter's poor pass, instead of gifting Hull a goal.

Just watched the highlights. That’s save from the Hull keeper from TC in the first 5 mins was outstanding TC couldn’t have done much more. Seemed like 1-1 was a completely fair result. 7 from 9 onwards and upwards with 4 winnable games on the spin coming up

Another big vindication for NJ’s mantra of doing the basics. Fitness, defending, and set pieces. Despite the punishing schedule and effort that went into the past two wins the players were still able to dig deep and find a way all the way into injury time - there were a few empty tanks at full time but it was the capacity of the tanks that got us that far. Despite surrendering a lot of possession and one bad error costing a goal we were able to remain resolute and within one goal which always gave us a glimmer of hope. And then it was simple set piece that provided the break through.

I still think, over the course of the whole season, anything from 5th to about 16th is a possible finish for us, but the floor of that range is getting raised every week. We won’t truly kick on until we start to find more consistent fluency in attack but that is coming, as we saw on Tuesday. Until then, NJ is absolutely spot on that as long as we keep doing the basics and working as hard as possible we will give ourselves a chance in most games and gather more than enough points to stay well out of trouble.

A fantastic week absolutely no one, except maybe NJ, would’ve thought even possible a year ago, let alone that we’d actually make it a reality.

Would have taken a point before the game and 4 points from this week is a fantastic return.

If TC puts one of those chances away in the first 5 mins, then it's a different game. Great character to keep going til the very end and great to celebrate at the spotty teens who were giving it over the divide all second half.

  • I'm not sure why we have three 10s in the matchday squad, but luckily one came up trumps.  Doc as holding mf desperately needed Karoy's energy to help him, not a 10.

The forward partnership didn't work today, but that was one game. TC didnt produce but had 4 chances, so some justification to try them again as starters and rotate with Tuesday's pair.

Worried about Knibbs lack of form, because he is keeping Fullah in the U21s.

Good spot with the Apter pass Covered End, it certainly put Gillesphey under pressure, it's those moments that Apter needs to handle a little bit better.

I thought with the Gillesphey error, the ball to him forced him to try what he did as he couldn't control it because of the pace and trajectory or hoof it out.
    I kinda agree.
It was a poor pass that put him into an uncomfortable position.
But I still think he had enough time to have cleared the ball, rather than turning into trouble.

Now played 6 out of 9 in the League top 10 (we are obviously in the top ten) but not beaten any of them yet.

Only played 3 of the teams 10-20 which suggests we have the potential to start picking up points when we do.

I thought at the time it was a poor pass, But Gilesphey with all his experience still had time to deal with it sensibly.
Tough gig is the right hand side wing back in this side. You don't have the luxury of TC tracking back and sharing the load a bit so you have so much more ground to cover.

A big ask for a youngster playing up a level at a brand new club.

I would have  been delighted with 6 points this week, and content with 4, so to finish with 7 is brilliant. 2 away games within a few days in the Championship is brutal,  so some squad rotation was essential.

I'm not sure the changes worked though. Knibbs was ineffective,  and neutralised our current attacking threat, as Carey was forced into a more engine room role. If neither Rankin-Costello nor Anderson are trusted in that role, then we need someone else as cover in January, as we can't expect Coventry and Doc to start all 46 games.

A disappointing goal to concede, but these things happen.  I thought we went gungho a bit soon, but happily Hull didn't take advantage of how open we were. Great delivery by Bree for the equaliser,  Berry doing what he does best.

Surprisingly we had a better xG today than against Ipswich, as it didn't feel that way!

Another great point especially when i don’t think we played particularly well! We look shattered pleased we have a week break now.

Thought Knibbs really blew his chance and looked quite lost at times. I know rotation was required but we missed Carey being able to push further up the pitch. Also showed how crucial Coventry is!

Feel sorry for Apter, don’t think he really
put a foot wrong just not sure he really fits our system.

I bloody love this team we just refuse to give up and got the point we deserved.

7 in 9 and 10 in 12 is well within our reach!

Insane return given we’ve just come up and so many new faces.  I’m only going by posts on here and it sounds like the week’s activity caught up with us, but the character to dig out an injury time equaliser on top of the winner at Sheff Utd, is superb.  You will recall how many last minute goals we conceded for a spell in 18/19.

Long may it continue, and for all those that did Ipswich, today or both, you deserve it.  Got my first away game at Wrexham in 2 weeks.  Fingers crossed I get the same

Apter is not and never will be a wingback. He does not have the strength to defend. Question mark about his place in the squad in my mind. I would rather Fullah, who is stronger and has more potential.
  • Great getting a point at the end and a wonderful celebration.

Thought Apter was poor, his ball to Gillesphey was the very definition of a hospital ball. Lloyd Jones told him so afterwards and he just shrugged and refused to accept responsibility (reminded me of Amady Faye years back). He won't last long in an NJ team with that attitude.

Overall the lads dug in and did well, there was no winning the game as soon as I bought a ticket for my boy to come anyway (total away game Jonah that he is).

I know it may not be as impressive as the Ipswich game but I said to a few mates today this is exactly the kind of result that will keep us in this division.

That’s a pity, you mean we’re not getting promoted?

So pleased for the travelling fans that we got that equaliser. That looked to be a really good turnout today.

Shows how far we’ve come in such a short period of time that there’s a bit of criticism after gaining a point at an established championship club to keep us in the play off places. Compare that to the last 5 or 6 years of dross we’ve had to endure.

We wasn’t  awful, both sides had they’re moments and a draw was probably fair. The fact we’ve been so good in other games makes an average performance look worse. What wasn’t lacking was effort and battling spirit. A good point.

seen some hull fans say we got lucky and were outclassed the entire game maybe I didn’t watch the same thing they did because I don’t think they were particularly that great and felt a point for both sides was very fai
