Surprised kelman dropped tbh1

Are we playing in red today?
The clue was in the opening post:
I imagibe that @eastterrace6168 will be most disappointed that their hard work in being as informative as possible is wasted.eastterrace6168 said:We will be sporting the white and blue away kit in Yorkshire, why not Red I want to know?
Or maybe not ...2 -

You say dropped, NJ says rotated for freshness.panther10 said:Surprised kelman dropped tbh10 -
I have a feeling this is the case. Prior to last year, Carey played more of a box to box midfield role for blackpool. While their supporters indicated he was much better in an attacking midfield role, he certainly can cover playing a little deeperForeverAddickted said:
Wonder if it'll be Carey doing Docherty's usual role, his work rate is already pretty impressive most games.Garrymanilow said:Didn’t have Coventry getting dropped for Knibbs on my bingo card. Presumably Docherty will drop deeper and Knibbs will be asked to do the mad dog pressing that Doc usually does which will be interesting to see. Sort of takes the pressure off him to create and score which might be good for a first league start.1 -

I get the feeling about Knibbs that he's more of a proper No.10 / second striker type player as wellBostonaddick said:

So NJ has freshened it up and probably thrown Hulls plans into disarray, not unhappy with our side it’s showing how strong our squad is if anything. Just need the new starters to make a claim for there spot.COYR!!!!!2

No game is a "free hit" for us. But as we're in a good place points wise and with the back to back away games, maybe Jones is taking this game as a chance to rest a few and give others game time?0

Carey ready for action today:

Looks mostly rotation induced changes to me.
Cov likely needed a rest. JRC or Anderson maybe more suited to the role but Knibbs has been knocking on the door and deserves the start. I did saybin pre season that I didn't think we would see it much but I would love to see Carey and Knibbs as dual 8s in the midfield 3. Both do a lot of running and pressing and can rotate who sits a little deeper vs who pushes on. Imagine Carey will have a little more freedom than Knibbs today tbh given his form.
Striker full switch is interesting. Looks like we are hoping to go for them early which is maybe a different gameplan to what we've used so far this season.2 -
Early KO's results
Coventry 3-1 Watford
Ipswich 1-0 WBA
Portsmouth 0-1 Stoke
So currently in 7th spot1 -
Too many changes, a strange decision.I think this will unsettle our rhythm and am going for an easy home win.0

Down to 7th, could end up 3rd or 4th. Not bother with where we will be if we lose because we are not going to 🤞😀2

It's a long season. Got to use our squad a bit more than we have been. Big chance for Knibbs and Apter today.
1-2 - Leaburn and Kelman off the bench.

Worries me too. That said today is a “free hit” as far as I’m concerned.MrBurns said:That line up worries me1 -

Looks like a line-up for a game we know we don't have much chance of winning to me. Can't lie.
But hopefully the rotation will surprise me.2 -
I think Apter has already "started" to show why we signed him. He is good at what he is good at, but he is a RW, not a RWB.Lincsaddick said:Hoping that Apter and Knibbs have decent games and can start to show why we signed them
I think Knibbs has had problems with stamina. Hopefully he is now over that.0 -

Don’t see this at all.SELR_addicks said:Looks like a line-up for a game we know we don't have much chance of winning to me. Can't lie.

Good grief, not sure if I'm still sleeping & having a nightmare but I'm actually agreeing with Colin/ ronnie at least as far as Tonto & Kelman are concernedRonnieMoore said:So Campbell gets 10 games Olaofe gets one .. very surprised with that line up .. Leaburn got to come to the game from the first min , never looks the same player when he starts .. and leaving Kelman out is a massive mistake just for his chasing the defenders and pulling defenders away something Leaburn does not do .. good to see Knibbs getting a start .. I hope NJ don’t regret these changes ??

Not surprised about the Bree swap, as while his delivery is sensational, he has tired in games.
If playing the " starting " striker is actually harder, then Kelman ought to find it easier to score coming off the bench...2 -
Might be caught on the break a couple of times today, Apter and Knibbs in particular are more attacking than Bree and Coventry.
Can see us playing much more of a 433 in possession with Apter and TC up alongside Miles, a flatter 3 man midfield and Bell and Ramsay slotting into more traditional fullback roles0 -
@ForeverAddickted...
Hopefully you have got HMS FA moored in The Humber ready...😉1 -
Hull have a DJ with a view of the pitch...0
