Yep - like the look of that, good to see others getting a chance to shine. Our squad is extremely strong nowCovered_End_Lad said:Very attacking line up that1 -
That lineup reinforces my feelings that our squad is one quality engine room midfielder light, as Knibbs isn't really a direct alternative to Coventry, and NJ doesn't see R-Costello and Anderson as starters3
-
Did not see that line up coming. I have no idea how this will go. My biggest concern are the set pieces which have been awful without Bree taking them (hopefully comes on at 60 mins, 2 assists).0

The Campbell/Leaburn cameo on Tuesday was so good, I would have given them a start together too
Welcome back the Raptor!1 -
okay i wont be watching this today as im at work but thats a great lineup just shows how good our squad depth is0
-
Didn’t have Coventry getting dropped for Knibbs on my bingo card. Presumably Docherty will drop deeper and Knibbs will be asked to do the mad dog pressing that Doc usually does which will be interesting to see. Sort of takes the pressure off him to create and score which might be good for a first league start.2

and im sure hull weren't prepared for that!0

Wow.Fair play to him for having the bravery to deviate from his comfort zone xi/ structure, I won’t criticise if it doesn’t work out as I prefer an approach which isn’t afraid to make decisions and we need to be able to learn adaptability if we’re to sustain competence across the season4
-
Not the traditional defense first line up that NJ usually goes with. I wonder if Coventry, Kelman and Bree were starting to look a little run down in training so rotating as opposed to being made for tactical reasons2
-
I should have bet money on TC starting0

I had the impression once, that NJ doesn’t like wingers. This line up puts that to bed, and there are two combinations where the players have excellent understanding of each other: Leaburn & Campbell, and Apter & Carey. CoyA.1

Surprising line up but an opportunity for those coming in. Don't feel too apprehensive about the changes. Tuesday was a tough game and NJ did say he would assess energy levels. UTA.1

dissapointing if we are not playing in red0

More attacking line up than usual, is this a sign of Nathan getting more adventurous and a sign of increased confidence, or, more likely giving a few a bit of a rest ?
Hoping that Apter and Knibbs have decent games and can start to show why we signed them3 -
Coventry is a huge miss, he covers every blade of grass, can knibbs do that role?3
-
With how defensively weak hull is I think this was the perfect game to tinker with a more attacking lineup while finally giving apter his minutes and giving knibbs a chance to show why we bought him and resting the players that need it. If it doesn’t work no harm done but I can see why Jones did this especially with how knackered we looked in the second half vs PNE.2

I imagine we're not, given the colour of the team sheetbertpalmer said:dissapointing if we are not playing in red0 -
Wonder if it'll be Carey doing Docherty's usual role, his work rate is already pretty impressive most games.Garrymanilow said:Didn’t have Coventry getting dropped for Knibbs on my bingo card. The pre match interview with the Hull manager had him respectfully describing us in a particular way, clearly based on recent knowledge. If he has prepared for the 'usual Charlton', then Nathan Jones might have caught him out with this unusual selection. Let's hope it works.0

Be interesting to see Kelman in the gamechanger role...4

Actually I don't think it is that much weaker. Different yes, certainly a lot of changes and maybe we lose some fluency/coherence through that but in terms of the players actual quality I'd say its pretty good.kentred2 said:Presumably a lot of little knocks. Much weaker team.1 -
Attacking team...not sure that Knibbs can play the Coventry role, and surprised that JRC didn't come in as a straight swap. Doc will need to hold his position/shape. I guess we will want to carry on from Tuesday's last 45, and if we can get in front, bring on Bree, etc to shut up shop.
I'd be happy with a point here, but this could be anything...

Kelman off the mark today, feel it in my bones. Happy with that starting 11, needed mixing up a bit with three games in a week.1
