Wasn't Big Sam in charge at Leeds for a shorter time than Les Reed was with us?1

Yes, 30 days according to this, link. Only covers Prem, though.siblers said:Wasn't Big Sam in charge at Leeds for a shorter time than Les Reed was with us?

hopefully the curse that has been set on the club since then has now finally lifted and we can now make a return to the Prem!2
-
I think he was also the shortest serving england manager.
(Sam allardyce that is)0 -
Yeah, Big Sam was just till the end of the season so he's is technically the shortest but it's not really the same as getting sacked like Big Ange or Les Reed1

I thought that the appointment of Les was never intended to be permanent. Maybe my memory has failed me but wasn't he considered to be an interim manager by the club but his official title was manager.
My point is that there have been many short term managerial appointments that were interim/temporary.

According to this it was permanent:

I think you are correct. The club didn't want him to have a 'temporary' title as they thought the players wouldn't respond to him. I also recall he wasn't paid more than his coaching role. It obviously didn't work !!bingaddick said:I thought that the appointment of Les was never intended to be permanent. It was also that they didn’t want the media asking after every game whether he was continuing.Hex said:

I would like to see Reed back at the Valley as director of football, which he did very well at Saints.
Look at Forest, a successful counter-attack side who appointed Ange, a possession based coach who didnt have the opportunity to bring players in to impose his style.
Les at Southampton identified players and managers who would work to their style of play.
If we lost NJ who must be on the radar as a successful manager, we need someone with a similar tactical set-up.
Obviously total nutters are hard to come by, but defence based managers should be targeted. Allardice is too old but someone should be targeted because a change of style could take 3/4 years and might see us back in L1 or worse.2 -
You say Jones must be on a radar but he has poor record when moving to bigger clubs. The only way he manages in the Prem is getting promoted there.0
-
Let's be real, it would of been even shorter if it wasn't for the international break. Ange got an extra 14 days on his record because of England playing.0
-
I'd be happy to have Reed back in some capacity on one condition; only if it's something that Nathan Jones wants. Not sure about DoF though, I'm not convinced that's a role that's always worked out for us.1
