    Wasn't Big Sam in charge at Leeds for a shorter time than  Les Reed was with us?

    hopefully the curse that has been set on the club since then has now finally lifted and we can now make a return to the Prem!

    I think he was also the shortest serving england manager. 

    (Sam allardyce that is)

    Yeah, Big Sam was just till the end of the season so he's is technically the shortest but it's not really the same as getting sacked like Big Ange or Les Reed

    I thought that the appointment of Les was never intended to be permanent. Maybe my memory has failed me but wasn't he considered to be an interim manager by the club but his official title was manager. 

    My point is that there have been many short term managerial appointments that were interim/temporary.

    I think you are correct.  The club didn't want him to have a 'temporary' title as they thought the players wouldn't respond to him.  I also recall he wasn't paid more than his coaching role.  It obviously didn't work !!

    It was also that they didn’t want the media asking after every game whether he was continuing.
