Other posters have mentioned his off field problems. Maybe he thinks there'll be less temptation for him in Denmark.

Yes he's been a bit unlucky with injuries, but you have to say he's wasted his career.1

30 years old. What went wrong?0

4 pages of notes just to retire!!! I won't be reading his auto biography!2

At 19 he was the best teenager in the world, such a shame injuries ruined his career. Still - he scored the best goal we will ever see in my life time.0

There were so many games where he was so invisible that I actually thought he was out injured. He was in fact playing the full 90! Comes under the category "someone who made the absolute most of a quite limited football ability". I wish him well playing golf and boring the after dinner circuit with 'legendary' stories of what life on the physios bench for 13 years is REALLY LIKE zzzzzz.0

What could have been with Wilshere and Foden in an England team together - Think if they played together in their prime, we'd be looking at one of the best midfields in the world at the moment1

Whether we think that he was an unfulfilled talent, it's good to see that he is coaching (albeit at Arsenal) but, even more importantly, the work he is doing, as a result of his daughter having to have surgery because of a congenital heart defect, on behalf of the British Heart Foundation. One in 110 people are born with a heart defect. We sometimes forget that footballers are still human. Money does goes a long way to alleviate the stresses of life but all power to Wilshere for using his daughter's situation to help others.6

And also you have to consider that he has connections in higher places 😉0
