What are the two things the following all have in common?

    Sam Konstas
    Moises Henriques
    Chris Green
    Sean Abbott
    Tanveer Sangha
    Mitchell Marsh
    Cooper Connolly
    Aaron Hardie
    Cameron Bancroft
    Ashton Agar
    Marnus Labuschagne
    Matt Renshaw
    Xavier Bartlett
    Mitchell Swepson
    Mitchell Owen
    Ben McDermott
    Matthew Wade
    Matthew Kuhnemann
    Riley Meredith
    Josh Philippe
    Jake Fraser-McGurk
    Nathan McSweeney
    Matthew Short
    Peter Handscomb
    Todd Murphy

All are current Aussie internationals being allowed to play in their domestic 50 over comp?
Absolutely spot on - in fact, all 25 played today including their current white ball captain, Mitchell Marsh, fresh from last week scoring an international ton for Australia. Many will return to play for their clubs too.

How many England internationals played in our domestic 50 over competition?
Burns foakes and sibley all made 1 or 2 appearances but aren't exactly current internationals.
And will never play a white ball international again. At least half of those Aussies will do so.
Could make 2 good 50 over sides from that list of Aussie players.

I did see Northants have signed Nathan McSweeney to an all formats overseas deal for next season which will be interesting.

The connection is, of course, Northants current coach Darren Lehmann. McSweeney plays for South Australia, (at Glenelg CC, the same club as Alex Carey) where the Darren Lehmann Cricket Academy is based.

£1,049,060.86 was matched at 1.02 on India beating South Africa. India lost.

The eventual match winner, De Klerk went 6, 6, 4 with three balls of the third last over to go at which point the Indian keeper, Gaud, went down, with no one near, as if she had been poleaxed by a centre half whilst the Ref wasn't looking. We then had to have a five minute break for the physio to come one. I just hope she's alright.

How many England internationals played in our domestic 50 over competition and what's our ODI record in the last four years compare to that of Australia especially in World Cups?
I don't think any of the England squad ahead of the 2023 World Cup played domestic 50-over cricket in England.  Although it's arguable as to whether it would have been of much benefit to play in England ahead of a World Cup in India.

Likewise, for Australia, none of the 2023 World Cup squad members played a single domestic 50-over match in the 2023-24 Marsh Cup before (or during) the World Cup.

As per usual you deliberately try to deflect the point which is how few 50 over games, overall, the England players in the ODI squad have played in the last four years compared to that of Australia. Playing 50 over cricket is totally different to T20 or 100 ball cricket as several of our "undercooked" internationals such as Buttler, Duckett and Salt have acknowledged.

None of our squad play any 50 over domestic games but Australian players do, generally speaking, turn out for clubs (Labuschagne, for example, has played in the last few weeks for his club) as well as their State meaning that they get more exposure to that form of the game.

Let the facts tell the story though - since the first game that was played in The Hundred, England have had 54 ODI's of which they've won 24 and lost 30. Against the seven top ranked sides the record becomes W10-L25 with some of those wins "dead rubbers" such as the recent victory against South Africa.

    Full record (W-L):

    Afghanistan (0-2)
    Australia (2-8)
    Bangladesh (3-1)
    India (1-6)
    Ireland (1-0)
    Netherlands (4-0)
    New Zealand (3-2)
    Pakistan (1-0)
    South Africa (2-6)
    Sri Lanka (0-1)
    West Indies (5-4)

In the 5 years prior to The Hundred, our record was W56-L21.

It really isn't rocket science to work out how and why this has happened but please do keep us amused with your attempts at deflection.

Clive Lloyd's last Test match started on 2nd January 1985. This was the side:

    Greenidge
    Haynes
    Richardson
    Gomes
    Richards
    Lloyd
    Dujon
    Marshall
    Holding
    Garner
    Walsh

The currently side playing India contains not one player averaging 30 with the bat and a bowling attack that, combined, has less Test wickets than any of the four-pronged fast bowlers mentioned above.

We know the reasons why and how this has happened but it is still so disappointing to witness the demise of West Indies cricket.

If anyone's in Colombo and at a loose end you could see England v Sri Lanka today for free.

They thought at first couple of weeks ago people would be prepared to pay but turns out they're not so they're giving them away. Think this might be the case for quite a few matches apart from India as indian fans at least come out for Indian games. Sri Lankan fans don't even bother for Sri Lanka.

England currently 189-6 after 42 overs. Feels like a very low scoring World Cup so far

Billions might be spent on stadiums, players and franchises,  but it does feel that the wickets do let the game down so often. Especially in white ball cricket, where the audience generally want to see big hitting and lots of runs, not batters having to nurdle runs on a slow,  stodgy pitch.

Australia, who were big favourites to beat India before the game, are being mauled at present with India on 192-1 off 30 overs. And Australia put India in!

India finish on 330 all out (48.5). Australia can thank Sutherland for her contribution of 5-40.

Australia won by 3 wickets with 6 balls to spare courtesy of 142 off 107 balls by Alyssa Healy.

Bangladesh are 100-2 (30) against South Africa. It appears that the word "rotation" is not one that is readily understood by the batters even when translated into their own language - of those 30 overs, no less than the equivalent of 21 overs have been maidens.

Bangladesh finished on 232-6 thanks to a late surge from Shorna Akter who finished on 51* off 35 balls. South Africa have gone about things a bit differently and find themselves 89-5 off 25 overs.

A defeat for South Africa would be an excellent result for England as beating Pakistan might mean they can afford to lose their other two games against India and Australia and still qualify for the semis such is their (current) vastly superior NRR.

Shorna Akter with the most devastating 'hero to zero' I've seen in a while

Unfortunately for us, South Africa win by 3 wickets with just 3 balls to spare. A couple of disastrous drops in the final half a dozen overs cost Bangladesh dearly. That and all the number of dot balls in their innings - 186 in total.

    PAK W v ENG W
England 3 wins so far, PAK 3 defeats ...... what could possibly go wrong?
ENG start at 1.16 and PAK at 7
