I did see Northants have signed Nathan McSweeney to an all formats overseas deal for next season which will be interesting.0 -
The connection is, of course, Northants current coach Darren Lehmann. McSweeney plays for South Australia, (at Glenelg CC, the same club as Alex Carey) where the Darren Lehmann Cricket Academy is based.MarcusH26 said:

The eventual match winner, De Klerk went 6, 6, 4 with three balls of the third last over to go at which point the Indian keeper, Gaud, went down, with no one near, as if she had been poleaxed by a centre half whilst the Ref wasn't looking. I don't think any of the England squad ahead of the 2023 World Cup played domestic 50-over cricket in England. Although it's arguable as to whether it would have been of much benefit to play in England ahead of a World Cup in India.Addick Addict said:

Likewise, for Australia, none of the 2023 World Cup squad members played a single domestic 50-over match in the 2023-24 Marsh Cup before (or during) the World Cup.1 -
As per usual you deliberately try to deflect the point which is how few 50 over games, overall, the England players in the ODI squad have played in the last four years compared to that of Australia. Playing 50 over cricket is totally different to T20 or 100 ball cricket as several of our "undercooked" internationals such as Buttler, Duckett and Salt have acknowledged.Chizz said:

How many England internationals played in our domestic 50 over competition and what's our ODI record in the last four years compare to that of Australia especially in World Cups?
Likewise, for Australia, none of the 2023 World Cup squad members played a single domestic 50-over match in the 2023-24 Marsh Cup before (or during) the World Cup.
None of our squad play any 50 over domestic games but Australian players do, generally speaking, turn out for clubs (Labuschagne, for example, has played in the last few weeks for his club) as well as their State meaning that they get more exposure to that form of the game.
Let the facts tell the story though - since the first game that was played in The Hundred, England have had 54 ODI's of which they've won 24 and lost 30. Against the seven top ranked sides the record becomes W10-L25 with some of those wins "dead rubbers" such as the recent victory against South Africa.

The currently side playing India contains not one player averaging 30 with the bat and a bowling attack that, combined, has less Test wickets than any of the four-pronged fast bowlers mentioned above.

They thought at first couple of weeks ago people would be prepared to pay but turns out they're not so they're giving them away. Think this might be the case for quite a few matches apart from India as indian fans at least come out for Indian games. Sri Lankan fans don't even bother for Sri Lanka.0 -

Billions might be spent on stadiums, players and franchises, but it does feel that the wickets do let the game down so often. Especially in white ball cricket, where the audience generally want to see big hitting and lots of runs, not batters having to nurdle runs on a slow, stodgy pitch.

Bangladesh are 100-2 (30) against South Africa. It appears that the word "rotation" is not one that is readily understood by the batters even when translated into their own language - of those 30 overs, no less than the equivalent of 21 overs have been maidens.0

Bangladesh finished on 232-6 thanks to a late surge from Shorna Akter who finished on 51* off 35 balls. South Africa have gone about things a bit differently and find themselves 89-5 off 25 overs.0

A defeat for South Africa would be an excellent result for England as beating Pakistan might mean they can afford to lose their other two games against India and Australia and still qualify for the semis such is their (current) vastly superior NRR.0

Unfortunately for us, South Africa win by 3 wickets with just 3 balls to spare. A couple of disastrous drops in the final half a dozen overs cost Bangladesh dearly. That and all the number of dot balls in their innings - 186 in total.0
