You all say this like Pakistan aren't going to roll over for 503
-
Just turned this on and shocked to see the scoreAddick Addict said:76-7 and they still have almost 29 overs to go.
Beth Mooney, on 33* (38) must be spitting feathers at the ineptitude of her partners in playing what is slow spin on an even slower wicket.0 -

Hope you got stuck into the 2.66 on Australia that was available. A bit better value than the pre-match 1.020 -
Last time the two teams played in an ODI, Pakistan scored 235-70
-
Fantastic legside stumping to get rid of Garth
115-81 -
I'm not watching, but it wouldn't surprise me if Pakistan really struggle when they bat. 76-7 to 115-8 feels like letting Australia off the hook.Leuth said:You all say this like Pakistan aren't going to roll over for 501 -
Australia batted really poorly on this pitch. There's been nothing in it for the seamers and the batters have just been playing too early to balls that have been slow turners. Mooney has played it as it should be played - seeing the ball early and playing it as late as possible.killerandflash said:

That's not to say that Pakistan will chase down what looks likely to be 180 plus. But the Australian top order only have themselves to blame - bar Mooney that is.0 -
100* (110) for Mooney out of 186-8 (47.5)0
-
Alana King with her first ODI 50* (48)0
-
221-9 (50)
Mooney out off the final ball of the innings for 109 (114).
Mooney & King with the highest 9th wicket partnership in ODI history with a stand of 106. Between them they contributed 160-1 off 163 balls. The rest produced 53-8 off 137 balls.
Pakistan seamers: 20-1-123-3
Pakistan spinners: 30-3-98-6

That is definitely the most predictable lower-order turnaround in cricket history tbf0
-
Well it was fun while it lasted. Brilliant batting by Mooney and King (he says through gritted teeth) but we were so close to one of the biggest upsets in history. Aargh.0

Agree with this. It also means they have to dig into the depths for their next back up in the squad. It's very unlikely starc and Hazlewood will be able to play all 5, Boland is 36 now? Will he be able to play 5 back to back. They will need at least one other quick. There aren't any real experienced options out there. The likes of Nesser and Abbott have experience but very few tests and are also getting on towards 35 now. Or they can try a young up and coming player but that's tough in the intensity of an Ashes series.killerandflash said:Boland is very good, especially in helpful conditions, but he's no Cummins who's an all time great. 309 wickets at 22, in all conditions.
Their captain too.

Aren't most of the younger backup Aussie quicks injured anyway? Lance Morris I think is out, Spencer Johnson doesn't seem to be anywhere near red ball selection and has been injured, Jhye Richardson seems to be always injured. Maybe a call up for brief Kent overseas Xavier Bartlett or Fergus O'Neill?1
-
Yeah they've had one or two other back issues. A bit of a pickle for them reallyMarcusH26 said:Aren't most of the younger backup Aussie quicks injured anyway? The Aussies might have to turn to Brendan Doggett or even Michael Nesser0
-
50 might be generous. Eyman just played the sort of slog not seen since I last played cricket donkey years ago. With the same result!Leuth said:You all say this like Pakistan aren't going to roll over for 500 -

As much as you want the ashes to be Best vs Best this might just be the best thing for England in an ashes series since Mcgrath stepping on that ball in 2005. And given our luck with injuries for Ashes series in the last decade its about time something went our way!fenaddick said:

I suppose the only difference between us and them is that they do have any number of other bowling options if it means giving Starc and Hazlewood a meaningful rest. In addition to Cummins' replacement and Lyon, they potentially have Webster and Green (who should be fit to bowl) as well as part-timers such as Head and Labuschagne.0

You're both in a bit of trouble. Pakistan only need two runs and have four wickets in hand.

Haven't seen much of Doggett bar the BBL but Neser would worry me , more than capable of batting 8 very comfortably too.Addick Addict said:The Aussies might have to turn to Brendan Doggett or even Michael Nesser0 -

The Kookaburra ball experiment is no more!3 -
Australia win by 107 runs which is two less than the difference between the two sides, Beth Mooney, made.0

Good work, and good point made1

Absolutely spot on - in fact, all 25 played today including their current white ball captain, Mitchell Marsh, fresh from last week scoring an international ton for Australia. Many will return to play for their clubs too.MarcusH26 said:

How many England internationals played in our domestic 50 over competition and what's our ODI record in the last four years compare to that of Australia especially in World Cups?1 -
Burns foakes and sibley all made 1 or 2 appearances but aren't exactly current internationals.Addick Addict said:

And will never play a white ball international again. At least half of those Aussies will do so.cantersaddick said:
