All the big guns lost and unforgivable from Fitzpatrick

Shouldn't have been so close, we made an absolute pig's ear of today
The 2 huge ones were Rose & Fleetwood. Could've made life very easy
Fitzpatrick blowing half a point after being 5 up was surely worse?

Granted but Bryson did at least win most of those holes with birdies. Fitz didn't play too badly down the stretch, just Bryson was possessed.

It might to you, but I'm celebrating.
  • Can we just agree that Bryson was very good. Not sure you can blame Fitzpatrick

We have (at least) retained the trophy in the US backyard.  Would have taken that before the weekend.
  • Has there ever been a worse final day than this? A team only winning 1 singles match and struggling to scrape 3 points.

The person we should really be thanking is the only one who managed to win a singles namely Ludvig Aberg
  • Next time we have to win every foursome don't give them an inch.
  • Never in doubt.

Just feels like an anti-climax but well done Europe, and fair play to US making a day of it.

Yep. Geezer should never have to buy a pint in his life. Only person to win out of 11 is disgraceful.

Did say to my mate when the singles was released that they'd easily win the session as it was a bad draw for us but fuck me, I did not expect that.
  • I don't believe the yanks. Most have disappeared before it was over. Bad losers. They're so like the Aussies. How did we create such brats.

It would've obviously been great to win comfortably and have it sewn up 2 hours ago but in a strange way it's also quite satisfactory to have the USA thinking they had a real chance of an incredible victory and then having it snatched away at the end.

After the way we played on the first 2 days, hard to believe we would only win one singles match. But we got the job done.

All the talk of record wins, what a joke.
Anyone who has watched the Ryder Cup over the years would never have believed any of it. We always struggle in the single matches, for whatever reasons.
Damage done on Friday and Saturday. All that matters is the final score.

Glad we did play like that the first 2 days, that record lead was very much needed in the end

And I'm back for the final match :)  So many Irish flags in the grandstand.

Always is a bit of a stretch. Medina was a good one!

People saying it’s a disgrace need to give their head a wobble. We just won the Ryder cup in New York. Incredible effort

There's no anticlimax. The only important thing was that these twats lost, and they did

Goes to show that when the Yanks have to try and put ego aside and team up they're useless, but when it's every man for himself they're much better. Story of recent Ryder Cups I feel, we play as a team they play as a bunch of All-Star individuals

And the yank misses his putt for another half point, to make it 15-13. Nowhere near as a thumping victory as it looked like it could've been yesterday, but very satisfying to stick it to the American fnas.

They all owe him big time. I know they did their bit the first two days but on your own stepping up in the singles game against the yanks (who are oddly, probably cos of ego, always good at) someone had to step up and he did, others though should of done as well. Well done Ludvig.
  • Good words from Bradley at the end

Following the lead of their President :)

Feels like a 3-2 win after being 3-0 up.

    Away.

    Against a load of arseholes.

    It's a great win.
