  • Cor Dan didn't like to say that "yeah you retained it" but we will make sure you have a hard time getting home.
Thought that was pretty poor from the head of the USPGA,muttered those few words but couldnt bring himself to say "Won" the Ryder Cup. Also Bradley bringing up the sealed envelope half point rule, saying its got to change, even though Luke Donald pointed out the yanks have used it before. Such bad, sour losers. Pathetic. Yank fans were a disgrace all weekend, couldnt even give Team Europe and their own players the respect to stay at the end. They couldnt get out quick enough. Brilliant weekend of golf when all said and done. Europes on Fire, la lal la la la🔥
  • Loving the Americans still going on about Hovland all over social media when they'd still have lost anyway.

    So salty.

Did the USA team comment about the unfairness of the envelope rule when they used it?

The USA team were also notably absent from the closing ceremony / presentation. Such bad losers.

Was worse too, as Pate was injured before the start, they could have replaced him, and then they picked him for the fourballs when he could have rested for the singles.

And it actually might have made a difference given they won 14.5-13.5 and we only needed the draw to retain.

Would have tipped Hovland to beat English anyway.

A nation of ‘participation’ medals and no coming last. Add in the fact they’re not team players, and you get petulant bad losers.
  • Worth remembering that the unique format of this comp means the final day singles are only worth a bit less than the full 72 holes action that some of our guys played across the first two.

Going forwards, European captains may need to use more of the team to ensure the likes of Rory and Tommy F aren’t mentally and physically jaded by the Sunday.

Golf banter is beyond cringe most of the time but the Americans in the crowd are something else
And not in a good way.

Am I the only one (half) hoping the US players up their game & get a few points on the board in this session.

Otherwise the singles might be a bit of a damp squib tomorrow. Want some edge to it at least.
I think you finally got your wish.

I hope the American audiences will behave better for the Olympics and World Cup, if not it will be an unpleasant place to participate. They were ignorant and classless, I wonder who they take their lead from.

Has Trump demanded a enquiry and recount after we had to withdraw one of our players yet?

Has anyone heard from @supaclive ??
    Is he alive?
Was it him in the purple and green away top and Europe scarf wrapped around his bucket hat, that tried to go after the eejit who through beer at Rory’s missus?
I’d heard they were less than complimentary to her but that is completely unacceptable. What an absolute w@nker.

Yep so funny listening to them going on about it. That rule has been going on since 1921. Disgusting looser’s but I guess no one remembers who comes second. That’s a quote from Donald Trump after winning his election. Get use to it. 😂

Do they participate in any genuine world team sports to a decent level? Usually just play amongst themselves and then claim to be world champions

At the Olympics they're pretty decent. Most of it is individual though. Maybe ice hockey but not many countries participate. Womens football as well.

They even change the sorting of the Olympic table by number of total number of medals if they are higher, instead of total number of golds, then total number of silvers etc

Certainly in terms of the World Cup, they have no idea about 'Sokka' - and will wonder where the girls are. They are clueless , full stop.
I work with a yank , and i said to him ..'what are the 2 most supported/watched sports in the world' - he said 1)NFL and 2) 'Sokka' - i had to remind him that it was 1 ) FOOTBALL - ie that game played where you use your feet and 2) CRICKET !!!!!

There's a part of me that wants to give the US a real tough time in 2027 in Ireland - but i know we will be a lot classier.

Basketball. And women's football, but not men's.

TBH I think it's only in golf that Yank fans have a bad reputation. Plus possibly ice hockey - the Canadian dislike of them goes back long before Trump's daft comments about them becoming the 51st state. Most other sports either you only meet the nice polite half of the country or else it's a sport like baseball where mostly it's only them playing so no-one knows if they're behaving themselves or not.

Must admit, i've holidayed in NY and also the West Coast - vastly different people - found the NY brethren to be the most rudest people on the planet, with the Westies being very laid back  - so much so, that i refuse to go to NY again.

There is a particular golf venue on the US tour that is renowned for being "lively", especially one par 3 hole that they throw beer glasses onto the green after every shot. They had to calm it down last year as it got so bad.....although it is fun in a way but not something we'd ever see over here.
  • Love watching all the videos of the celebrations from the European team. Also you can see the togetherness they have from the post-tournament press conference where they're all laughing and joking with each other. You wouldn't get that with the US team.

I thought it was just when there's a hole in one? Scottsdale seems like a hell of a party place every Phoenix Open
