  • He meant well . He got caught up in the attention he got without knowing how to do the job or who to employ to do the job .
I have no malice towards him at all . We’ve had a lot worse owners but that bar is pretty low .

He bought the club. He did not save the club. No ones knows what would have happened had he not bought the club at the point he did. What we probably know is the crooks who did have it would have quickly have run out fo cash to keep it going, then push would have come to shove and someone else would have bought us.

What we do know about him was

He paid £1.5m to Nimer and Southall

Locked us into a deal with RD for The Valley and TG where the lease is getting very close to now expiring.

Did not have a clue how to run a football club, but would not take any advice from anyone who had historical knowledge of our club.

Sacked Jacko by zoom when he had been sat with him 24 hrs previously.

Treated other staff members in a terrible way.

The mysterious way his partner was not back in the country when she had been a very noticeable presence before then.
A retainer was paid to a firm which specializes in managing the administration process.  Plenty of talk that we were weeks away from administration.  Nobody else was going to purchase the club before that happened.  Yes, he was clueless as an owner but deserves some credit for the initial takeover.

That infamous Saturday night in the Oak with his guitar after a home game is up there as one I will remember for a very long time (I was not in there by the way)

  • It is looking a lot brighter now thanks to the new owners and our crazy manager.
  • I will always give him a round of applause for saving us from utter disaster.  I remember ‘watching’ the updates from court on this forum and being so pleased when he was victorious against the criminals.

He sacked some very good staff
    he was an egomaniac

But the alternative was much more dire.

It was a perilous state of affairs and he was the right guy at the right time to keep us afloat.
Will always be thankful to him for that and it was never dull from then on however you look at it.

I think he meant well initially when he came in but you ask Olly Groome and other backroom staff if he meant well a couple of years in when he was making Charlton people redundant out of spite, with this illegally working wife swinging the axe in HR
  • I wonder if Martin ( Hotshot Hamish) got another job in football after Charlton?

I think Trump's Liberation Day explains the vertical drop in April 2025, but things were hardly healthy at that time.

The value of Sandgaard's battery supply company (for that is what it is) has dived in the last five years.  He has had his challenges, but it looks like his business acumen is consistently poor whether the field is soccer or snake oil.
  • Egotistical twat… but still better than previous owners!

The lease expires in 2036. That’s still some distance away.

  • 10 years is not some distance away.

  • It’s not exactly tomorrow is it. If it was 3 or 4 I’d understand.
  • The worst bench in the history of CAFC? Harness, Elewere and Ghandour ended up with two career starts at League 1 level between them and Davison has managed just two career goals in the division, Watson's legs at 35 had gone and it was Pearce's last season too.

Its not just the worst bench, its quite possibly the worst Charlton team of the modern era, certainly the worst i can recall in my 25 years of following Charlton.

That defence is diabolical, most of the first team pretty quickly dropped levels.
  • The whole Covid thing made it a weird time for everybody let alone someone running a football club. I’d like to get his story sometime.

True, but it’s reasonable to assume that under Chris Farnell, managed by Dave Jones, that it wasn’t going to end well

Some people laugh at Ronnie's posts just because they're Ronnie's posts.  Sometimes this is unwarranted.

Him playing guitar before the first game of the season while Chris Gunter was preparing to play left back summed up his priorities
Why......should Sandgaard have been playing left back instead 😄
No but his son should have been playing up front, he can kick the ball really hard apparently.

The worst thing about looking at that line up for me is that I've got player shirts for 10 (TEN!) of them. Absolute brain fart buying that utter shite.
