5 years since he took over apparently. Am I in the minority that has warmth for him?
Yes, he was an egotist, made some insensitive and poor decisions from hiring his family to do professional jobs, and didn't take us forwards.
However, despite his incompetencies, I'll always be thankful that he saved us from the utter crooks which had tied our club in knots, that needed someone to come along and untangle. I was really worried for our future at that point, and delighted when he took over.
I think his heart was in the right place….but he had no idea what he was doing and his ego would not allow him to engage to get help.
Not malevolent….but arguably more ‘dangerous’ to the club than old captain brown teeth.
His ownership was a disaster for us and him, we went downhill as did his bank balance. However I still firmly believe that if he had not of been crazy enough to take on the crooks when he stepped in we wouldnt have a club today, for that alone we owe him a vote of thanks.
If it was not for TS taking us over in very difficult Financial Times we would not have a club … unfortunately no days one man can’t afford to run a club
We were a vehicle for his ego. He had no affinity for the club then or now - he had an affinity for himself.
When he dropped Red Red Robin from the first game of the season and replaced it with his own dirge, I started a thread on here whilst sitting in the Covered End saying it was not his history to change, and had plenty of responses along the line of "it's not important / it's his club he can do what he wants". That sentiment wasn't true then and it's not true now.
I'm glad he stepped in when he did, and I'm even gladder he stepped away when he did.
He will be remembered as more of a knob than a saviour.

Thought he knew best, knew very little. The long qa he did where he came out with his plan and vision raised a few eyebrows and really wasn't any different to what Roland thought he could do, but Tom played guitar and went for a beer so all's good.
Had a clear fan facing personality and from what people in and around the club said during his tenure had a very different one internally.
Gave us some fantastic CL conspiracy theories though so eternally grateful for that and forum favourites such as:
"He gets us" "Ged Roddy told him to say that" "Ged Roddy told him to do that" And that utter bellend who kept shouting "where's your 8 million" every time someone criticised him.
And of course, Sandgaard junior's discovery of the Scottish Pirlo.
It all started so positively. I remember he appointed Ged Roddy for the football side and Wayne Mumford for the business side. It looked like he was going to be an owner who delegated jobs to people who seemed to know what they were doing. I actually think Ged would have been a great appointment if Sandgaard hadn't been so hands on. This is just an opinion; somebody who is ITK will possibly say otherwise.
Wasn't one of Ged Roddys key tasks to get us CatA academy. Should have been a walk in the park for the bloke that wrote the EPPP nonsense, but he failed to deliver. He stuffed us by putting that crap in place in the first place, then took a salary for himself and his son whilst he failed in getting us to CatA. Shite appointment. As for Sandgaard, undoubtedly woeful at owning a club, but he saved us so remains broadly a positive. Anyone have the video where he got Ollie and others to trial out firing hot dogs into the stands and they exploded in the air instead!
He saved us from the crooks, had a go at making a success of things, failed and turned a bit nasty when it all went tits up - feel sorry for the staff who suffered as a consequence. All in all, a bit of a clown but god knows what would have happened if he hadn't stepped in.
Think he was exactly what everyone saw - - Undoubtedly saved the Club when it needed saving (That's how desperate things were). Deserves credit for that - Was a complete narcissist. (Maybe that's exactly what was needed to complete a take-over the basket case of a Club that we were at the time.) - Bit of a c**t to work for in the "my way or the highway" sense
