  • Think he has looked excellent so far.  Hearing the Luton fans comments I was really worried about him.  Hopefully he carries on proving them wrong.

He has been very good. Tackles well, positionally strong, has aeons of time on the ball, so much more than we expect he has to play it which caused initial nerves but he has come away with it every time a le Ramsay and his distribution is also top notch.

Great signing and long may his form and fitness last

Luton telling us his legs have gone, maybe it was more symptomatic of their squad, and mentality as a whole, because he's looked absolutely fine so far
I never believe it when fans say players' legs have gone. It's always just them pointing out that a player isn't as lightning fast as they've seen them be in the past. Sometimes that's because of an injury and sometimes it's just because they aren't playing the same way as they used to but there's a difference between losing a bit of unbelievable pace but still being rapid and losing speed altogether. I reckon he's one of the fastest players in our squad as it is, don't need him to be much faster.

Thought Gillesphey was hard done by being dropped but Bell has looked good although we do miss that Gillesphey diagonal long pass

Said on Saturday he's been one of the standout new players but as he's a CB it doesn't get as much attention as Apter's runs or Knibbs' goal etc.

His ability to carry the ball forward and beat a player or two in the process is excellent, and he looks very very calm and solid defensively.

Ben Watson being the exception to that rule...

Included in the Jamaica “Road to 2026 Watchlist” along with Anderson, Dixon & TC

    Coach Steve McClaren:

“These are the players we are following closely with the 3rd Round of the CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers set to kick off shortly..."

Edwards picked up that slack, hit an outstanding diagonal in the second half on Saturday

This is one of my favourite things about being back in The Championship. Not the international break itself as i'd rather we played on anyway but the uncertainty around whether those games would take place, if we had enough call ups, the risk of losing a player to a call up after our game was confirmed on, whether Jones wanted to play the game without a player or two called up, all that uncertainty gone this season, makes it that bit easier to make other plans too.

Ironically because of our four Jamaicans we'd have gotten the game called off anyway

Yet if we’d remained in League One then Bell wouldn’t be here and Dixon may still have gone out on loan so quite possible we’d still be going through all the usual motions.
  • At this rate, we'll have an Amar'i Bell End at The Valley.

Absolutely outstanding today. Been overshadowed maybe by some of the other signings but so far he's got to be up there with the best of them.

Very good. Been the most consistent of the new signings for me.

Came within a whisker of getting a second yellow today, but he’s a calming presence at the back. Very comfortable on the ball even when being pressed and has been a useful outlet for us to play around the press. He and Carey have been the pick of the new signings, so far, imo - not that anyone looks a failure yet.

  • Massively surprised me.  Knew nothing about him and reading the Luton fans comments I was worried but he has looked class.
  • A class act.
  • Missing half of two seasons with hamstring injuries probably influenced Luton fans to write him off.

A fit Amarii is a beast!

Let us hope he keeps away from injuries then.
  • What a player he is for us. Comfortable on the ball and strong defensively. Quality. To get him on a free is great business.

Yeah I agree that he has been really good and has surprised me. He is improving with games and adapting to his new team. Just hope he can stay fit as he becoming very important for us.

I have also been surprised by him. He scared the life out of me when I saw him for the first time against Watford.
However, he has looked better and better.
It's like having the reincarnation of Paul Mortimer as a defender.

On a good day the back 3 of Bell, Jones and Ramsay look the most calm and assured defence in the league, and all 3 are comfortable on the ball too

The biggest compliment you can give him is that no one has called for Gillesphey to be returned to the starting 11. He's made that place completely his own
