Still surprised Mat is so far clear given he's been incredibly inconsistent, will be interesting to see him in CoC.
Mat has benefitted from being at least mostly competent (with a few moments of insanity or stupidity) in a series where all of the other contestants are basically a bit rubbish (but in a really fun way.)

In some other series he'd most likely be pretty middling. Even in the latest episode he made an absolutely spectacular balls up of the multi-task but equally did really well at the dynamism one.

I think most series he'd be pretty middle of the road , I'm shocked how Rosie is second when she seems to be utterly confused by everyday things.

That Dynamism task was an all time great attempt from Mat from any series.

Great last episode! And the new cast for S20 is very interesting even if I don't know 2 of them.

Alex Horne has talked about it before but series 20 will feature 1 contestant in their 20s, one in their 30s, one 40s, one 50s and one in their 60s.

It's certainly a very interesting one! I'm not gonna post it quite yet and spoil it.

Brilliant S19 and a brilliant line up for s20. Delighted for the least well known member (the one in their 50s) who has plugged away for years under radar and is supposedly a real comedians favourite. If only it could start next week….

I am not saying it was definitely the best series (though its arguably up there IMO) BUT S19 is probably the single best cast at least in as much as they all just genuinely seemed to be having the best time and the scores really didn't matter much at all.

I'm going to miss Javie Martzoukas. what a team

a superb series with 5 great contestants who were all utterly useless at times but in very different ways. just a joy to watch

I was worried about Rosie as she's done stuff in the past I've not liked but she was great

Honestly was worried at the start without a conventional big name or a legend that this would be a weaker series but instead it's probably one of the top 5 ever? Even Fatiha who I struggled with initially won me over by the end.

The drive thru wasn't quite Taskmaster Hotel but still a hilarious task.

S20 has a lot to live up to

And 20 had two legends! Wondering if it was down to schedules. Loved 19, first I've watched live with the kids, and they loved it and it was interesting to see the things they found funny compared to me

Denied that they used dynamic pricing for the Oasis tour. I’m not so sure. 😀

Wait, there was a task where they had to set the pricing for the Oasis tickets?
I bet it was Mantzoukis who switched it to dynamic, he has that crazy stupid aura about him…..

I can only guess with 20 being a milestone series, Alex wanted to push the boat out on the lineup so 2 legends kinda makes sense.

S19 is actually a really good series to introduce to kids! I did try TM Junior and despite Mike Wozniak being an excellent assistant it just didn't click for me.

I knew this was in the works but didn’t know it had happened. Was it Rose Matafeo and Mike Wozniak? At the time it was announced I thought they’d cast probably the best people they could for the format, but I never planned to watch it because kids versions of successful adult formats are invariably shite as they always get a bit sickly sweet. (Also, other people’s kids don’t entertain me. Sorry pushy mum, I don’t care how funny and talented you think your darling Tarquin is, to me he’s just an obnoxious brat. Overenthusiastically doing the floss, shouting and pulling faces doesn’t change that.)

Anyway, although it didn’t click for you, would you say they did a good job?

Yeah they did a really great job as TM and Assistant but I think it was just the kids really that put me off it.

I watched one episode of the junior version out of interest and it did work, as you say the flaw is that kids you don’t know are often boring/annoying in this kind of context. I’m sure other kids loved it which is what matters and Rose/Mike was pretty spot on casting

Watch TM junior with my 10 year old. She really enjoyed it, but it still fuming that I haven't signed her up for it.

Both kids have now decided that the series they want to see next is the one with Julian Clary in it. I have no idea why.

Edit - not because it's one of the best series (which it is), but they specifically want to see Julian Clary!

Also, an inspired group, great expectations of this series.
  • I think that’s got to be the best first episode ever!!

I'm not aware of Anya and Phil, but he's got great "agent of chaos" vibes. I have to admit I was half expecting Sanjeev to say "well I can get my phone, but it's not going to be much help as it doesn't do QR codes" in that task, and Alex definitely made a rod for his own back with the final task. Strong start to the series.

Very strong start. Phil is going to be a fan favourite I can tell.
  • I think that’s got to be the best first episode ever!!
Joe Wilkinson and the potato/red green was episode 1, can't see it ever being bettered!

Decent enough episode I thought tonight, good live task, but then half the time it doesn't get going until all the little in-jokes, them getting comfortable enough to argue in the studio etc kicks in.
  • I think Reece Sheersmith could be great, waiting for a full-on meltdown.

The scoring of the nice v disgusting task was brilliant. Really good opening episode, hopefully the chemistry between them develops as it goes on
  • Haven't watched it yet but this is already giving me high hopes, especially as I've got a ticket to be in the studio audience on Monday!

Genuinely have no idea! They film 2 episodes a day and started last week so I'm wondering if I'll catch the tail end of this series, shall find out on Monday!
