Midfield not looking good, defence looking exposed. Not playing to feet, & too much lumping the ball forward.

Not surprising but team looks like a collection of individuals that are playing together for the first time.
2 shots from Cambridge & no midfield tracking the Cambridge scorer, who had freedom of the park, powder puff defending for the 2nd. .
Slightly better 10 mins & Charlton with Charlton playing to feet. Good strike & goal from Fullah.
    Charlton away support loud.

Good work from Hobden to dig a cross out of nowhere

We cross into the box and the keeper claims. Our fans count down the 8 seconds

Fuck off Nathan.  Stop disrespecting a major cup competition. Only started with 6 first teamers, 3 of those (Anderson, Gilesphy and Rankin-Costello) have hardly played this season.

And we have no experience to bring on.

“A major cup competition” Come on Golfie, I’m disappointed by the lineup and the score but let’s not go OTT about a crap competition here
This is the LEAGUE CUP !!!! 2nd only to the FA Cup in terms of cup competitions in English football.

You can get into Europe winning it.

    I give up.
We could play our first 11 in every round, we'd not be winning it. Shame to go out quite this early but I don't blame Jones for prioritising the league instead - and I'm fairly sure he was expecting a better performance than this, even with the line up he opted for.

That feels like poor keeping, but I’ll take it.
Dunno, looked a horrible shot to try and save as it seemed to dip as it went in - 'Keeper might have got to it, had it been straight as an arrow.
It will be interesting to see a better view, but I’m pretty confident the Leicester keeper would have saved that.

Either way much happier to see Fullah move more centrally. Hes not a LWB.

Seems we’ve moved a few players around, Fullah now central or on the right?

    Is Mitchell LWB?

Interesting team, a test for Hobden as we saw with Rylah in the last cup game. A natural defender rather than a winger like Rylah, plays CB/RB/RWB in the u21s, a real battler, solid and reliable, grabs the odd goal.

                    AMB

           Laq Zach Gillesphey

    Hobden                          Fullah

                 Anderson JRC

                       Knibbs

                Kelman Tanto

Subs for those who don’t know:

Reuben Reid - winger/striker, very exciting, pace, tricks and a good size, only 17. I said we might see a cup cameo from him this season, nice to see it could be as soon as tonight.

Keenan Gough - CB/DM/CM, like Hobden a solid reliable player, bit of an all rounder. Captained at u18 and u21 level.

Paris Lock - winger, son of Chris, signed after leaving Wimbledon this summer.

Ty Ewens-Findlay - CB, signed after leaving Cambridge Utd this summer so could make his debut vs his old club.
My eldest boy is friends with T-EF and he rates him very very highly. Hoping he can get on the pitch tonight.

That’s why the Leicester keeper is playing top end Champ football instead of L2 football

Free kick launched into the box, headed across but the shot's wide. And that's half time.

Not a very good showing is it?
Albeit I missed our goal as the missus had just made a mighty fine lemon drizzle cake Mmm Mmmm Mmmm
  • And that’s another reason you don’t make wholesale changes. Individually, there are some really talented players in that mix but not having a stable team to filter into makes it ten times harder to shine. Superb goal so fair play to Fullah.

Do you know if Cambridge released him or offered him a new deal?

Poor half saved with a bit of quality by Fullah at the end there. Good timing on the goal too.

Midfield in particular very poor, thought their experience would've been able to control the game but guess fitness isn't quite there yet?
  • Poor half from a random team chucked together to play on a Tuesday night before a huge championship game early on Saturday.

    Pulse rates down everyone

Kelman is technically a good player - still think one goal could open the floodgates

Get Enslin on, give us a proper LWB for the second half, and move Fullah into midfield.

HT 2-1, not great but ending on a high, sure Nathan will sort out the first half mess, and turn this match on it's head...

Really liked the turn and finish a few minutes ago, do that regularly and he'll get goals

The commentator has had Fullah's first name as Isiah and Isaac so far.

Kelman looks promising we need to be patient with him and they need to play to his strengths
