McIntyre the latest Brit to melt like an ice cream. Sure he had texts from Fleetwood and Rory soon after.
You have to give it to Scheffler. I think they said that’s something like 16 consecutive rounds in the 60s. His ability to hit his approach so consistently 10ft from pin is incredible.
McIntyre went downhill from his first round & got progressively worse. Rounds of 62, 64 68 & 73. And once Sheffler had tied the lead on 4.....and took it on 6 there was no looking back.
Must admit bobmac didn't handle it well but he was beaten by the best golfer of the day.If he was up against a mere mortal maybe things would have been different. That's still a great showing and wdnt it be great if he bounced back by taking points of Scottie in the RC .
Bobmac will go on to win more tournaments for sure

It's quite interesting to witness the reaction of the Fleetwood and MacIntyre to their recent defeats when in front. Fleetwood was far more accepting, possibly because he is more used to the situation, of the two whereas MacIntyre was visibly spitting feathers himself to the extent that he said, if he could, he would swear as an expression of his disappointment with himself. Hopefully that anger will drive him on and hopefully even more so when it comes to the Ryder Cup on US soil.
Both Fleetwood and MacIntryre will be real assets in the pairs element of that especially as so many of the US players can't seem to accept that there is no "I" in team. We will still struggle to win the Cup though following the singles.
The man I said couldn't putt finally got over the line. Well done Tommy. Helps when your 2 nearest challengers go for a swim on 15 but he still had to do the job.
Now for the Ryder Cup & more British wins on US soil !
He said it hasn't been a question for some time. Could have said that previously & stopped all the will he / wont he chatter.
Now it's over to Luke Donald & his announcement next Monday.
Why? Keeping everyone guessing builds the profile and interest in the event in the US. The Ryder Cup is huge in Europe amongst non-golf fans as well as avid golf followers - that isn't the case in the US.

Can’t wait for the Ryder Cup now.

He had 27 birdies.
His swing is a thing of real beauty. Get in Tommy Lad!
I had the house to myself and was engrossed from start to finish.
I still find Sky's coverage irritating.
