Just try to enjoy it... Our expectations seem all over the place. We could've had a much worse start. Or, we could've been playing Mansfield, Burton and Rotherham.

Are we supposed to putting goals past Leicester, who've got individual players that cost more than our entire team put together... Or Bristol, who were in the play-offs last year. We have been competitive in all our games, and we will improve.

We battered Leicester. They win it with a worldie. That happens. It's not a crisis, it's football.
Even Leicester's bench had players worth more than our last takeover with the likes of Skipp and Daka. Just one of those games where a player far too good for this level has produced a moment of magic and it'll happen this season , we definitely gave them a proper game
    Daka - 30 million
    Skipp - 23 million
    Soumare - 20 million
    Vestergaard - 17 million
    Faes - 17 million
    Fatawu - 16 million
    Okoli - 14 million
    Winks - 11 million
    Hermansen - 9 million
    Ayew - 6 million

    Total: £163 million squad.

    El Khannouss £37m?

Don't ever recall going away from a game more frustrated than yesterday. Apart from a worldie and I think the first goal he scored for the club we more than matched them.

As others have said bit disappointed subs weren't made earlier.  Bit concerned our major goal threat is from corners and how did we keep missing sitters from a few yards out.

    Onwards and upwards.

Like I said on page 2, on another day we get 4 or 5 goals. I get fed up of hearing we were undone by a bit of Prem/Chamionship quality, as if no-one below that level can score from the edge of the box. We were undone by sheer bad luck with the bounce of the ball, deflections, good goal keeping, and of course some poor finishing. Coventry's chance on the goal line just had me laughing in frustration. It just wasn't our day. One team deserved to win that game and that was us, and Leicester will know that.

Whether it's league 1 2 national league or my local park it's still a worldie and if he did that another 50 times wouldn't score. Sometimes you have to acknowledge a great goal, no matter who or what level it is.

I know we got beaten by a great strike yesterday but watching the championship games last night they seem pretty common ! Maybe it’s because teams are so hard to break down in the championship but there are a lot of shots from distance it seems unless yesterday was not usual maybe that’s why we brought Kaminski in ? After all neither Mannion  or AMB covered themselves in glory when faced with long shots

Leicester have won two and lost one in the league, so they are hardly in disarray on the footballing side.

Take a look at the quality of Preston's 2 finishes that led to them beating them in a narrow 2-1 win. We needed to pull that level of final pass and/or finish yesterday, but just came short on the day.

Listened to the Conor Coventry interview on Charlton Live earlier. Liked his mentioning of the home fans' immediate reaction when Leicester scored. He said we were louder. Must have lifted the players.
Even after Leicester scored we should've scored 4.

Just shows how mad transfer fees are in the PL.
Not just in the Prem anymore. Some of the fees that are being thrown around in the championship now, even adjusting for inflation.  Ipswich taking that player off Leicester on Friday for £13m

i think football finances are on par with quantum physics at the moment.  Bournemouth have sold about £150m worth of talent this summer, I bet they’re still screwed financially.  It’s also the randomness and money involved in these deals.  Players not deemed good enough for X in a similar position to Y, yet Y happy to pay 40m plus.  So many examples.  Ramsey from Villa to Newcastle, Dango Bournemouth to Brentford, Nicolas Jackson potentially leaving Chelsea to end up at Villa.  Wissa to Newcastle for 60m at the age of 28.  The whole system is screwed

the best example I can give is a couple of years ago, seeing Everton splash something like 150m when they had the likes of Richarlison etc, only to achieve the same league position they had in the mid 90s with a central midfield of John Ebbrell and Barry Horne.  Mental

Neither did Hermansen, he’s currently cocking it up for West Ham.

Vlog up for this, first vlog loss I have uploaded in 10 months (Bristol Rovers away)

Hope it's still worth a watch

Great video mate. Your audio when talking at your seat was a lot better this time around.
Thank you. It's still bloody amateur considering I had it perfect last season.

Last game it was a firmware update, this time it was a loose cable, quite frustrating as I've invested quite a lot into the equipment and had back to back issues.

New cable now and all devices updated, unless the microphone physically explodes next game the audio should be Crystal clear.   :)

The way I look at it is that we have deserved to win every game we have played at this level so far. But having said that, the margin hasn't been so great that we couldn't have lost every game with an ill wind. Watford could have had a pen near the end, before we scored our winner. Yes, it would have been harsh and we should have had a pen before that, but it was 60/40 we win that game and we did.

Bristol city was a tad closer and I think about 55/45 in our favour. They hit the bar and we hit the post. On Saturday it was probably 65/35 in our favour but we missed two glorious headed chances apart from anything else. And they took their half chance which was virtually all they had. When you are talking about the numbers above, it is like throwing a dice but if we keep playing like that the probability is going to be firmly in our favour.

If we get sharper in front of goal it pushes the probability of victory even more in our favour and I suppose that is the next step but we have every reason to continue to be positive. We can say the quality of finishing is higher at this level but I think it is below the level I expected. Don't forget, we had a run of games early last season where opponents were scoring worldies against us.

For me it feels we are taking that extra second which allows better defenders to get blocks in. Maybe it is a second you have at League One level but don't in the Championship.  Rather than the finishing of opponents, that is probably my biggest take away so far. I am a great believer in if the player is good enough they will adapt. If you have more time take it. If you don't adapt to it and that is what I expect to see with the calibre of players we have. We do have to give the lads time to adapt, which I'm sure we will, and I think there is every reason to be excited about the season ahead.

Having watched them this season, Fatawu was the player I feared most but he isn't scoring those sort of goals every game. Actually he isn't scoring them often at all but he has that sort of goal in his locker and it wasn't our day on Saturday.
  • Imagine I'll get backlash but TC needs to be dropped. No end product and lightweight. Tanto come on and showed more.
100% agree, league one player at best

No point in having the most shots if we're not converting.

Like many of our players, he's adapting to this level. I can see him becoming a quality player in the Championship. Last season, we questioned if he was god enough for league 1 and he went on an amazing run, as did the rest of the team.

I do question, however, whether he keeps his place when Knibbs is fully fit, Godden plus Tanto start firing on all cylinders and Leaburn gets up to speed. Can TC maintain the same level of development while the rest of the team is improving.
