To repeat what almost everyone else said:
Played well today, even just a point would have felt a bit of a measly reward for that effort. That really was the only half chance they had all game. But we know how cruel the game can be sometimes, just how it goes.
TC did good but yes, he looked knackered and slowed significantly from about 65 minutes on (unless he was told to save some energy towards the end, who knows). On the other hand he didn't run me over when I walked in front of his car about an hour after the game, so there's that.
And the twelfth man today ... not seen too many that get significantly louder when they go a goal down, top work everyone 😉. Out of the two visitors to the valley so far this season, Watford definitely the louder by some distance.
A decent win Tuesday will lift us well for Saturday, but let's not get too ahead of ourselves with the stuffing qpr got today. Teams will rarely offer up that sort of performance twice in a row, we'll still need our A game.
And then, the one we really want to pull out all the stops for ....9 -
Load of bollocks that we have lost that. That ball just wasn't falling for us. 1 moment of quality is all it takes in this league. As soon as he cut in I knew a player of his capability I this league can stick that top bins.
We will beat teams playing worse than we did today. My little girls 1st game. She gets one more chance then she's not going again if we lose that one.18 -

It was a frustrating result, but outcomes like this are bound to happen over the course of the season. From a tactical perspective, TC may be more effective as an impact substitute, coming on for the final 20 minutes when opposition defenders are fatigued after dealing with Tanto’s physical presence for the opening 70. Recruitment-wise, the need for another right wing-back remains a priority, though strengthening the forward line with an additional option could also prove valuable.0

Today was just one of those days where it just wouldn’t go in. Thought everyone played well but especially Cov, Doch and Jones.
Have seen a few comments about the subs could have been made earlier but at no point in the second half did we really let up so whilst we were pretty relentlessly going forward I don’t blame NJ for not shaking things up
He terrorised poor defences but was quiet against the better teams. It will be the same this season, except there are far less poor defences.2 -

The most fortunate team in the EFL this weekend make off with the points

I’ve just rewatched the disallowed goal. At the time, I didn’t spot any foul as my focus was on the ball, and having seen it back, in my (admittedly biased) opinion it should have stood.1

Called it after the Crawley game that our next home loss would be to Leicester in the Championship19

He's obviously there for his goal scoring ability rather than his chance creation but is that enough? Especially when he's been limited in his goal scoring positioning so far in these first 3 games and forced to attempt to create chances more often.
They are only counted if the chance created results in a goal - and depends on the ability of the goalscorer to score.
If the chance is missed then the player creating the chance gets no credit.
Instead, better perhaps to count and credit the chance creator, regardless of whether a goal is scored.

Campbell's successful passes today. Do you see where the issue may be?8 -

Good game to watch. Well done to everybody. We need to get that killer instinct in front of goal. The one that Godden and Macca provided us!!
TC played well, but his header over the bar was quite a poor attempt, as it was easier to head it downwards.
We're coming across a different calibre of goalkeeper in the Championship.0 -
We’d be having a much different conversation if Coventry’s great strike had gone in instead of Fatawu’s7

Edit: maybe a bit OTT but 11 strikers with 11+ goals isn’t a huge amount3 -

I’m still trying to work out how we managed to lose that game. We had enough opportunities to win it comfortably but a combination of good goalkeeping, good last ditch defensive blocks and poor finishing saw us draw a blank. To compound matters, Leicester’s tricky right winger, who was generally well contained by Josh, chose today to score his first goal for 15 months and a worldy at that.
In contrast to Leicester’s goalie, Kaminski was a virtual spectator and he was very well protected by our back line. Coventry’s excellent long range drive was the only effort of real note in a first half in which Charlton pressed relentlessly and turned the ball over in Leicester’s half on a regular basis.
We went very close twice at the start of the second half before Fatawu’s moment of magic and, thereafter, had several efforts on goal but to no avail.
In fairness, Leicester improved after they brought on Daka as a striker up top, not because he had much of an impact but because it allowed Ayew to escape the clutches of Lloyd Jones and influence play from a deeper position.
I thought the entire Charlton side played very well, with the Doc possibly having his best game for us. Disappointing to lose, particularly in circumstances where we were the better side, but these things tend to even themselves out over the season. One thing is for sure - we’ll play a lot worse and win. Perhaps today’s bad luck will balance itself out in our next home fixture.

This division is brutal, you have to take your chances, if you want to get something out of the match.
There was a cross in the box from Apter in the first half, that I think if Godden was on the end of it, it’s going in, and you’re 1-0 up.
Cant fault the players for effort and commitment, just lacking a bit of composure in the final third.
First home defeat in the league since December, an incredible achievement!
We’ve been spoilt and accustomed to winning at home, but I can’t be too hard on the lads, I hope they are determined, but not downhearted, and can reset very quickly.
I Thought Conor was outstanding today, maybe one of my favourite games I’ve seen him play, Doc was also brilliant at winning the ball back.
Rob Apter was lively, and it’s great to have someone at the club, that can actually cross the ball.
We will play worse than that, and win, thought Leicester were a bit lucky, maybe I’m doing them a disservice.
Every game in this division is tough, and at least we have points on the board after 3 matches.
Roll on QPR, can’t wait!

They won it on a wonder strike from a premier level player. You can’t really account for that. Nothing dropped our way today. We were superb all game and didn’t deserve to lose that. Just one of those games I suppose but disappointing none the less. We outplayed them. Our high press had them rattled. Time after time we won the ball back. I thought Apter and Carey were superb together. In fact I thought everyone was superb actually. We continue to play like that we’ll have no problem in this league. Onto QPR.5

Frustrating
we set up well and hussled with the usual exemplary work rate. On another day, one of those chances goes in, but Leicester’s moment of quality was the difference and we’ve learnt a lesson today about being more clinical and quicker in the final third.
I thought Leaburn was excellent, Coventry and Docherty very industrious as well. Unfortunately, Apter and Carey were kept quiet and TC just couldn’t quite do enough to make them pay when he had the ball. We’ve got a great foundation currently and as stupid as this might sound, an early defeat might just sharpen the senses as to the task ahead of us.QPR getting tonked at Coventry really does make for an intriguing clash next week. Last one before the intl break, I think we need to go for it and 3 pts are what we should aim for5
