I’m hoping Kelman isn’t punishing himself mentally he needs time to get into his stride. For me he needs to come on as a sub until he clicks. For me Leaburn and Tanto start no idea why TC seems to have cemented that starting spot we need to be more direct and have a cutting edge which atm TC doesn’t supply
Agree with all this although, in his defence, campbell seems to do just enough every time and is still adapting to this level imo.

However, a loss gives Jones perfect opportunity to bring in Tanto. Managed the team perfectly.

leaburn is not only a menace but he gives it his all and is definitely athletic enough for champs. Not sure on kelman yet.

Great to see the crowd get going after we went 1-0 down
  • Couldn't fault the effort or the approach play but you get less chances in this division and when you get them you need to finish them, Campbell's header should have been under the bar amongst other half chances. Gutting to perform that well and come away with nothing.
  • Regarding the disallowed goal, looked an absolute re-run of the Watford goal, with Doc blocking off the defender to allow Jones the header, I know the Watford one came of their defender, but the plan was the same, thing is one was ok, and today wasn't...🤷‍♂️

We win that 3 - 0 on another day. I feel frustrated with the result but not the team because everyone played well. Leaburn was imperious and won everything in the air, Doch and Cov responded to criticism with two outstanding performances, Jones was excellent and would make a decent striker at a lower level... everyone was good.

(I will say, having defended Kelman recently, he annoyed me today. He came on with fresh legs and walked around the pitch).

And while we do have a lot of athleticism in the final third, we're lacking class and quality. We have a tendency to panic and snatch at things.

But I can't be displeased because if we keep playing like that, we'll do well.
I must have watched a different game as I didnt see Leaburn win much in the air at all. Expect more in the air from someone supposedly 6ft 6.
Seriously? He won nearly everything in the air.
Did he  ??  Didnt get a header on or off  target or flick a ball on for a someone to run onto.

Indeed, no headers at goal that I recall. I'm referring to when balls were launched forward in the air, he won most of these and did flick them on or hold the ball up to bring others into play. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.
  • In the first half we had a corner that Lloyd Jones chested down at the back post, and the ref blew for a foul, for what looked like two Leicester players running into each other. Did anyone have a better view

Superb performance, how we've lost I have no idea.

Was Ramsay carrying a knock for most of the game? Didn't seem his usual swashbuckling self and seemed to be limping second half
Thought the same. Still a decent game but seemed a bit off by his usual very high standards.
  • I only remember them having 1 shot on target, typical it had to be a scorcher.  We were the better team especially the second half, the ball just wouldn't fall for us. I lost count of the ricochets that fell for them in their box.

It was a good performance overall and bodes well going forward.
  • Really gutted about today. Didn’t deserve to lose that one bit. Leicester are mid table at best if they don’t splash the cash.

Agree with others that I’d like to see Olaofe & the other subs on a bit earlier. Thought TC & Leaburn looked knackered after an hour.

Thought everyone to a man was excellent today. QPR 5-0 down at half time so hopefully next week is a good opportunity to turn the chances in to goals.

But if we're going to play lots of hoof ball he's currently our best/only option. Already shown that Kelman is lost in our current system.
  • Make that 6-0!
  • Oh well

Learn from it, move on and focus on our visit to Loftus Road next week.

A reality check isn't too bad early on in the season.

We're good at getting back up on our feet.

I feel confident we will beat QPR 0-2 next week. Solid performance with a few bumps and scratches!
  • Never been so proud and positive after a loss

to a man everyone played well and we more than deserved all 3 points

its amazing how far we have come and if your going to lose,
lose like that ! dominant for nearly the whole game fight and passion and lost to a wonder goal

onto the next people ! COYRs !!!!
  • Sorry lads and ladies, my fault. Obviously our unbeaten home record goes while I am in attendance.
Uhmm. For the first time since the first game after Crawley at home I had to use a different turnstile in Harvey Gardens into the AC Stand due to the crowd and about four turnstiles not in use. Don't think it's just down to you.
  • I'm not at all disheartened by that. We were the better team throughout, beaten by a quality strike from one of the best players in the league.

I thought TC started well, his pressing caused them lots of problems. But he faded a lot in the second half and really should have been taken off for fresh legs.

Doc was great today.  I think there were 4 occasions where his positional play and quick thinking stopped them from breaking from set pieces.

We defended well and created plenty of chances.  20 shots and 7 on target! On another day, we get at least a draw out of that.

Leaburn played well but we do miss Godden. He's still our best all-round forward.

It does give us an opportunity to mix things up a bit. We might see Knibbs for Carey, even though he played pretty well, and maybe Olaofe for TC. Docherty's performance means that JRC will have to wait a bit longer.

As it's confession time, I forgot my lucky pants today...🤦‍♂️
  • Thought Carey was anonymous today and Apter struggled with his crossing…hopefully they can adapt….beaten by a wonder goal. Do we have someone who can do that? Not sure
  • Leicester were there for the taking and we played well enough to win, but got beaten. It happens.

No lack of endeavour from the first kick to the last, which was great to see.

Room for improvement to have more cutting edge when going forward, perhaps a few tweaks needed. No criticism of NJ or the players today, we're finding our way, and I get that.

    We go again.
  • Tops marks again to the team for effort and industry, particularly off the ball. The Doc and Cov pairing were bossing it throughout the first half. But a clean sheet at halftime was a much better outcome for the visitors than the home team and, apart from the worldie save from Coventry, their keeper had little to do. Second half sees the Charlton press beaten once and their winger scores a quality goal. Then it's chasing the game time and, sadly, we came up short.

Our manager really has to sort out his attacking options and make all that effort turn into goals or we will get mugged again on a regular basis at this level. Having two wide players in Apter and TC in the starting line up leaves Leaburn (or Kelman or whoever) fighting a lonely battle against two centre halves. Like to see Tanto start with either Kelman or Leaburn and have Apter and TC rotate off the bench.
  • A reminder that TC had 1 assist all of last season in League One.

He's obviously there for his goal scoring ability rather than his chance creation but is that enough? Especially when he's been limited in his goal scoring positioning so far in these first 3 games and forced to attempt to create chances more often.

He won some headers/knock ons and had one header on target that the keeper saved.
  • Campbell has a lot of good attributes, but his passing is atrocious at this level, can get away with that at LG1 but not champ level
