Happy with that, we improved as the game went on, defended well and created a bit ourselves. Just lacked the final ball to end in shots at goal. Bristol City a better team than Watford but we’re still in this.
Really good half, weathered the early storm and the better team (slightly) for the last 20 minutes. Keep it tight then throw on Leaburn, Tanto and Knibbs on 65-70 mins.
Hopefully in the second half we can weather the storm and then its time to start bringing on Leaburn, Knibbs, Olaofe etc to start ratcheting it up a bit and land a nice sucker punch.
Take that at half time. Look - this lot were in the playoffs last year and just won 4-1 away at Sheff Utd. But we look ok. We’re competing and don’t look out of place which is what’s important.
Great performance, fully deserve to be all square at the break, maybe a bit of better decision making and it could be even better, although you could say the same about Bristol City too.
Jones and Ramsay have been absolutely immense, Lloyd with one of the funniest "dives" to ensure we won a Free Kick, whilst we need to enjoy watching Kayne whilst we can, wonder if there is little point offering him a new deal, as cant see him here next season unless we're in the Premier League.
Work rate all round though has been outstanding, even from Campbell who has worried them a few times and Kelman who has had scraps (Although felt Charlie could have been on the toes of Carey's effort a bit more... The only blemish of the half).
They look a very good side but we have in the main coped well. Ramsay is magnificent the way he handles opposition threats if he isn’t in the premiership next season I would be amazed. keep it 0-0 then send our finishers on at 70 minutes to nick a 1-0 victory ?
Feels like I’m watching from the top of the Clifton Suspension Bridge. Solid first half. They look the more likely to score but we’ve limited their chances to not a lot and have been growing into the game throughout the half. Hopefully some super sub action to come on and nick it for us but I’d honestly take another 45 minutes like that and a 0-0 from a tough away fixture.
Doing superbly well to still be on level Terms with a very good City team.
Some great defending, with at least half dozen great blocks. Ramsay outstanding, Jones not far behind him.
But up front ee are pretty toothless. No point in moaning about Kelman as he has no support . Hopefully early introductions for Leaburn and/or Olaofe will give us more up front.
Taken the sting out of them, defensively brilliant. Loyd and kayne immense. Edwards a little rattled compared to last week but putting in a shift. Apter playing well despite having two Bristol players on him. Would love to see costello on for docherty and tanto for TC.
Bristol City were certainly the better side for the first 15/20 mins and I was fearing the worst but we have grown into the game. Carey, Apter, TC and (especially) Ramsay our stand out performers for me.
Also need to add the block from Ramsay towards the end of the half which I found amusing. He basically slid in, and put his foot up to block the cross, because their fella even put the cross in.
Tanto and Kelman second half ……….. their two number tens are dangerous but the few breaks we had their defence can be rattled and Tanto is that man to make openings
First 15 minutes we were overrun a bit, but grew into the game.
We're basically doing a good job nullifying them so the game is quite back and forth with no real chances of note. I do think we need to be a little more clinical going forwards as we usually end up losing the ball quite easily in the final third.

Am surprised Bristol City haven't tested Edwards more, as the fella down his side had Josh on toast at the start of the game, they oddly haven't tried repeating that since.
Ramsey puffing in the hot sun with some excellent well-timed blocks. Jones looking very solid and marking tight. Liking what I've seen of Bell. Edwards has had a game on the left. Not much to say up front, but the work is all focused on keeping shots on Kaminski's goal to a minimum.
Comments
Kelman and TC dont really work well together as they are both looking to get in behind - both need a leaburn or a tanto to play the flick ons etc
defence looks solid, albeit central midfield is crying out for a terrier-like Anderson. Wouldnt mind seeing JRC in the deep lying role too
i do think this has Leaburn all over it

A great shift out in on a scorching afternoon.
