Was Jones at Brighton at the same time as Duffy?
If so the link makes some sense after Bennett's trial , he seems to trust players he knows.0 -

I’d argue we do need a CB. Burke already isn’t available and neither Mitchell is good enough.sam3110 said:Centre back, again not a position we need unless Burke is out way longer than we thought or we're shipping out both Mitchells1 -
Sorry. Can all the moaners stop moaning.soapboxsam said:redbuttle said:Can everyone stop moaning about Kelman. At least give him a few games to get up to speed.
It's not everyone and most comments on CL have been supportive.
In certain games Charlie will be the best option when the likes of Rob Apter are there to feed him especially in counter attacks. We have a great mix of attacking forwards and I want them all to succeed.
Do the Cafc critics really expect all the new signings to settle in straight away; rhetorical question as we know they do.3 -
Al Hamidi had an absolute shocker last night against Bromley

I’d personally prefer it if we hijacked the Brad Hills transfer!18

Wouldn't happen though - he's not so good that he'd come right into the side over the likes of Jones, Ramsay etc and we're not going to spend 2mill on someone who would then be scrapping with the Mitchell's, Burke, etc for a place on the bench and he wouldn't want to sign as a bench/squad player.cafc_se7 said:I’d personally prefer it if we hijacked the Brad Hills transfer!1 -

Really good signing for Stockport that. Can see Stockport going up this season, probably the best team in League 1 I would say.Laddick01 said:Very random rumour here. Also, great signing for Stockport
Duffy would be a nice pick up, played 45 games, over 4000 minutes and got 4 goals. That would be a real quality signing.
I hope so...

I’d rather no rumour than being linked with those 2.
Al Hamadi feels like Bonne mark 2 where he showed a bit of promise in lower league but never was championship let alone premier league quality.
And Duffy is slow and past it. Would far rather keep both Mitchell’s than him. He has had a good career but comfortably on the decline.
No thanks.9 -
Rumours line buses, wait ages for one and two come along1

FWIW would imagine we asked about Al-Hamadi weeks ago when Kelman was being dragged out so our name is being chucked in with others to get interest up. Duffy is a random one unless both the Mitchell’s have moves lined up which seems unlikely given they both played yday0
-
Don't know anything about Duffy but an older, experienced defender with pedigree for a year to allow Zac Mitchell to get a League One move and play football for the entire season would seem like a good move to me.2
-
Duffy seems more of a replacement for Alex Mitchell, as the backup, big physical CB, than Zach, who's more of a pacy ballplayer. Maybe Alex wants to leave.0
-
I saw it mentioned on X that Burke is rumoured to be out for a while - anyone got a steer on how long?0
-
If Burke is out for any length of time I can well imagine another back up will be drafted in as I don’t think A or Z Mitchell are Championship ready/able despite being good enough players in their own right. NJ was giving A Mitchell some very clear talking to on Tuesday night and similarly to May when he was here, Mitchell’s face just looked bemused. Not a healthy recipe from past experience and if caught by NJ…0

I didn't notice that with Alex Mitchell. What happened?0 -
Jones hinted that Zach Mitchell needs to be playing games so bringing another cb allows him to go on loan. Arguably need two per position but it’s probably worth carrying 7 centrebacks knowing Burke is likely to be injured 80% of the time. Although personally a bit confused as to why we’d go for Duffy opposed to a more wide centreback with a bit more mobility like Zach.1

Duffy won’t be able to play right centre back in our system. Wonder if Lloyd might have to if Ramsay is ever out .Athletico Charlton said:Don't know anything about Duffy but an older, experienced defender with pedigree for a year to allow Zac Mitchell to get a League One move and play football for the entire season would seem like a good move to me.0 -
NJ said A.Mitchell played well in his post match interview after the Stevenage game.
Neither him or Z.Mitchell are anywhere near good enough for the champoonship though….so loaning one/both out & bringing in a better replacement would make a lot of sense.2 -
He was fantastic against us at their place last season. Not often in League 1 that you notice opposition players, but in that game distinctly remember being impressed by both him and Tanto!cafc_se7 said:I’d personally prefer it if we hijacked the Brad Hills transfer!

I'm not sure she'd pass the height test.
