Just under 22000 is brilliant 👏7

Unfortunately I don’t think we will have him for the rest of his contract in fact another 2 performances like today in August I will be surprised if offers don’t come in the bloke is sheer classDippenhall said:Am I off the mark thinking Ramsey’s potential can’t be far short, if at all, of what Gomez was showing at the same stage in his career.1 -

Kelman and Carey were perhaps a bit quiet
If that was Carey being "quiet", I look forward to watching him when he is fully active. I thought he ran his socks off and gave them all sorts of problems.
Just the opposite of Kelman. A poster above (sorry, forgot who) rightly said that Kelman tied up two defenders. They were probably assigned to him on the strength of his reputation. That will cease if someone else is scoring our goals and he ain't.

Moments like today are a stark reminder of where we've been the last few years, from unfit low quality players gifting away last minute goals to below average league one sides to having a team and a squad that are amongst the fittest in the league and full of machines that just keep going and going and going
Not a single side in this league will want to see Tanto Miles and Knibbs coming off the bench after 70 minutes and pressing you so far back your keeper finds himself in the vegetable isle of Charlton Sainsburys
Also how we signed Apter and Carey for 2.5M total feels almost like robbery after today's showing, and long may it continue

Did I miss something as to why they were so obsessed with him? They even missed our chance when TC crossed the ball right across the goal.Karim_myBagheri said:

My work is done with Berry. He is a forgotten man. Now I have set the pitchfork and flaming torches mob onto Docherty.wmcf123 said:
Don’t agree - he runs around but doesn’t affect the game a lot . Great guy, good to have around but one I’d replace - we need more quality in thereCharwill said:Doc does a lot of unsung work. All the players I know really rate him. Boring to watch but see what happens if he isn’t there All teams need one like him
Soon the team will be as I want it and I can conquer the league.6 -
I think that’s the least of his worries while he reaches in to Ramsay’s body, who is now our number 9.cantersaddick said:

Well got back home at 8.45 pm just over 15 hours after leaving early this morning but absolutely worth it. A massive 3 points as I don’t think we can expect much from the next couple of games but who knows with this squad !
not wishing to sound negative after a great day but ………
Kaminski worries me. With our defence being so good I can see teams sending balls into the box rather than trying to play through us and he seems to dislike coming to claim the ball which I personally like a keeper to do
Tanto needs to start and TC be the sub replacement after 70 mins
Unfortunately Doc can’t keep his place ahead of the midfielders on the bench regardless of captaincy1 -
He did say that he wants a more comfortable crate to sit on next week thoughForeverAddickted said:Fair play to the Watford Manager, doesnt have a bitch and whinge about the penalty they should have had, I know we should have had at least one ourselves, but wouldn't have blamed him, had he brought it up

Attendance 21,778
But makes you realise how hard it will be to compete in this League when you see that only 2 teams - Oxford & QPR - had a smaller attendance today.0 -
But did you enjoy the new posters in there ????LargeAddick said:

Early doors, but very promising start.
I don't think we looked out of place at all. They looked big and physical, we handled them well.
Special mention to Josh Edwards. I spoke to a lot of Watford fans and they all highlighted Baah as a real threat, and a good winger in this league, thought Josh did really well.
Thought their number 9 Luca Kjerrumgaard looked a bit of a unit as well but once Lloydy grew into the game he dealt with him.
Ramsay probably the best player on the pitch, and that's saying something cause there's a lot of comp.
Very glad the football is back, I'll have a vlog up for 9am20 -

Glad to be back in the Covered End. Can't beat the West side view, but being behind the goal when a late winner goes in is special.2 -

Superb performance today. Our fitness wins through again. We dominated the last 10 minutes and Watford couldn't deal with the energy. Great debuts for practically everyone. Love the look of The Raptor and Carey. Subs made a great impact. Doch was terrible but at least we have options now.
Watford were a big team. Coventry looked like a kid trying to wrestle Sissoko! I thought they looked like a good side.
Felt a real buzz walking down Harvey Gardens before the game. So nice to be back in the Champ.0 -
No. My view is the summer holiday thing is a myth. Weather, lack of previous games and school holidays more than offset people who are away.PragueAddick said:Like everyone else, absolutely glowing after that.
Everyone's covered pretty much everything, except for the one thing that gave me a pang of disappointment. The attendance. After all the noise from the club during the midweek, I was expecting 23k maybe 24k. As was Brownie, btw, and he's part of the club.
There were less Charlton fans there today than for the Burton game.
I remember @Airman Brown would mention that opening fixtures suffer a bit from people being on holiday. But it was a bit of an anti-climatic note to hear at the end of a great day in every other way.
Not sure what we can do about it, other than spread the word.2 -
