If anybody has seen or tried on the 3rd kit already, is it the same sizing as the home and away? Asking as some kits have different cuts/templates so want to order correctly online. Cheers0

I wish we had stayed with Castore and (much earlier) Nike .. their shirts were well designed and of good quality0 -

I appreciate it can't be done with smaller clubs but the 'vapour' versions of Nike shirts i.e. England are really nicely made imo. The Nike shirts were just basic template ones, At least since then we've had bespoke designs.sam3110 said:

I'm more of a training top kind of guy than a home/away/3rd kit kind of guy so treated myself to one of those. Although I did try on the retro woolwich top in bluewater the other day and loved it so will probably get that at some point.0

That pisses me off. I can handle the shirts looking naff (the home still hasn’t grown on me) but if the club are going to take their fans hard earned cash then there needs to be some assurance that the product will meet some sort of minimum standard.NorthbyEast said:My son loves his new Goalkeeper kit. Was in the club shop today and to me the application of the sponsor logo is lowering the quality of all the shirts, which tbh can be described as flimsy, at best. I’m hoping next seasons offering are better in design and quality.3

I find the shirts last well to be fair. I wear quite a few football shirts on holiday as you don't need to iron them after washing. All have survived well. My oldest kit is the purple and green third kit but I have the 2003/4 one with Di Canio on the back which is still fine. The hummel kits were lighter than others but were/are very comfortabe. The black and gold hummel is a nice shirt, which gets positive comments, although the gold is fading a bit but I think it adds to the character.
I still have the dark red nike shirt which is doing well and the one for the season after when we were just off the play offs and whilst that is doing well, the sponser logo has completely come off leaving no sign it was ever there, but I suppose the material is a factor.
Whilst on honeymoon in Mexico in 1999 I was wearing the purple and green shirt and a market trader tried his very best to buy it from me. Offering anything from his leather stall, then 3 x anything but I am pleased I decided to keep it. I did give away Charlton shirts when on holiday to a favoured waiter etc... as they really appreciate them and it left a bit of Charlton in places like Mexico and Cuba. I must admit, I like the third kit and it might be one for the collectors. The purple and green one was not positively received generally when it came out I think I recall.
My washing advice is not too hot, don't go above 40 degrees, and wash them inside out. They will last that way.1 -
As a man who likes subtle (boring) designs all of this years kits leave me with a bit of a headache, the away kit with it's smurf ejaculate is actually the most normal. The home and third, feel like every idea they had was added. If the third didn't have the base colour of a metallic oil slick I genuinely think I would like it, but as a nearly 51 year old man my opinion isn't really that important. I probably wouldn't buy one anyway. The only real test of a kit is the results we get wearing it.7
