Deadline Day from Pg.641 - Summer 2025 Charlton Athletic Transfer Rumours

I’m not overly concerned about the RWB area having watched Apter in pre season. He will need to learn defensively a bit but the reviews of him make him sound like a bit of a sponge who will pick things up and work hard to implement them. Still wouldn’t turn down Fukuda though2

Karl Robinson revelled in announcing the team as early as possible, occasionally even on the day before the game. For that alone I never particularly rated him highly as a coach/manager.TheHerminator said:
Why would you make public who’s available and who’s not? That’s essentially letting the oppo know who they should and shouldn’t worry about in advance and set up accordinglyeastterrace6168 said:
Fully understand Nathan's stance on some things, but us fans are as interested as him in the goings on within our club, and this includes players fitness, all this secret squirrel stuff is like a double edged sword...LargeAddick said:
Well you won’t be getting one from NJ, he likes to keep his cards very close to his chest.BigDiddy said:Squad fitness update required!7 -

I’ll ask my brother. There is always a chance he could be bullshitting me. lolBraziliance said:

Yeah not saying you're lying, I believe you got told that. Just thought this would be a decent person to ask as well as he is Japanese, lives in Japan, is a Charlton fan, and knew a fair bit about Fukuda.flyingkiwiDK said:

Maybe he also just hasn't seen the news though and might look now.4 -
Fairly easy to work out that Godden, Berry, Burke and Mannion are injured as they haven't played (bar Burke's one appearance v Dartford) in preseason.
JRC and Leaburn didn't make the bench yesterday so possibly have knocks too.
L Jones went off after over stretching v Southend but N Jones suggested it wasn't an issue.
Knibbs hasn't play much pre-season for Reading which might mean an injury or just that Reading wouldn't risk an injury to a possible transfer.7 -

OK, have a nice time.RonnieMoore said:

He’s not gone anywhere yet has he?47 -

I make this spot on and think JRC and Leaburn will be ready for next weekend, as will Lloyd. Having just this minute arrive Knibbs needs to integrate so regardless of fitness status wouldn’t see him immediately jumping into the side anyway. Carey will take the 10 until Knibbs is ready.Henry Irving said:Fairly easy to work out the Godden, Berry, Burke and Mannion are injured as they haven't played (bar Burke's one appearance v Dartford) in preseason.

We definitely don't want him to get an injury as at his age it will take longer to heal,he is one of or the most important player in our teamMuttleyCAFC said:I would suspect with Jones yesterday is that in a league game he would run it off but in a friendly no risk is taken.0 -

He's Nathan Jones - not Karl Robinson, with his legendary immediate pre-match public tactical revelations!eastterrace6168 said:

In the years before subs the team sheet was given to the referee about an hour before kick off. There was some sort of agreement to make a change if someone was injured or unwell in the warm up.0

If the press over there were reporting it was a done deal, we’d have all sorts of articles and links to it. Can’t see this one being true.8

To whom it may concern, I get that my post about injuries and non announcements were unfounded, no need for any more telling off please...😉8

Donley an unused sub for Spurs in Korea.2

West Brom fans seem fairly convinced it is them.MarcusH26 said:Donley an unused sub for Spurs in Korea.
Would make sense when you consider their manager is Ryan Mason, and they'll probably trust him with developing one of their players.
Would be good here so that would be a shame7 -

So now doubts it’s either Donley or Fukuda. If there’s a player meeting for Monday I wonder who it might be.1

West Brom makes far too much sense as move with Mason as manager. Wouldn't think we stood a chance if they are an optionBraziliance said:

We obviously won’t be signing Donley - why would we even need a fourth number 10?11

Can't see us getting Donley. Aside from the fact that i haven't seen us linked with him at all outside of this forum, i'm not convinced we now have a space for him given that we have Carey and Knibbs.1

Spurs might need Donley to stay now. Possible ACL injury for James Maddison.0

            We won’t be signing Donley.4

To be fair, two of our attacking mids aren't on Donleys level, and the other (Knibbs) can play centre mid.arny23394 said:We obviously won’t be signing Donley - why would we even need a fourth number 10?
If we signed Donley he would probably start and play infront of Knibbs and Coventry. Coventry as our hold, Knibbs as an 8. Would also mean one of our two central midfielders actually has goals in their locker, as we know Coventry & Docherty are getting less than 10 combined.
He would be a very good pick up and would give us a lot of creativity. Would be the last piece of the missing puzzle along with the right wing back imo.1
