Is this entire India side just full of dislikeable delusional players that think they're a lot better than they actually are because they're treated as untouchable gods at home?
I think it must be this. Very, very unlikable. Seem to think they should have it all their own way

    Sadly not just the team.

Honestly they have always been treated like royalty in India. We were in Jodphur doing the touristy stuff in the Fort & suddenly everyone was being asked to leave, private visit was happening. We were like, not a hope we've paid our money thank you. They let us stay, convinced it was because we were white. We carried on going about & after a few minutes in walks Tendulkar with an army of escorts. Couldn't believe it.

This lot are just entitled wannabes in comparison to those before them.

So predictable. England have the patience of a stroppy teenager.

Brook is batting like another candidate destined to do the same.

You'd think with a population like they have, and playing very little other sports to any great standard, they'd be better than many of this lot. Kohli might have been a class A arrogant tw@t but at least he was world class

I went to a few tests when Kohli was there, he did act like he was the match referee but I don't remember the current level of aggro TBH. Not seen the last hour, according to the BBC Joe Root getting involved, that's like the day Sir Chris got sent off at the Valley vs Vicenza.

When Kohli was captain, the interventions came from him and he would argue the case with the umpires. With Gill in charge, it seems like it's a free for all and that he doesn't have the prescence to control them.

Seriously, how do we get to a situation in August where an England international (and a batter at that) has played one red ball game all season and that was six weeks ago? Bethell might be capable of producing the goods without previous time in the middle but we really aren't giving him the best tools with which to prove himself.

I thought this Test was destined to be a draw what with all the rain forecast. Having got them out cheaply & England going at a fair trot I can see this finishing with a winner. We need to get a decent lead of at least 50 otherwise I can see us needing to chase 250/300 and on this wicket I can see us failing.

The England opening partnership looks more and more useful now, in what looks a low scoring game.

He's going to go to the Ashes to potentially face Starc, Haslewood, Cummins, Boland, Lyon et al having less than a hundred runs behind him in the previous year in red ball. "We don't prepare to fail........."

Crawleys made some meaningful contributions the last couple of tests. They obviously compliment each other, right hand, left hand, tall man, short. Add to that how they put pressure under the batsman.

How do we get to the situation when the main test series has to be crammed into a ridiculously short period of time with far too short a rest period between tests. No wonder Stokes, Woakes etc have injuries - its not good for the players well-being

Woakes' injury can't really be put down to playing too many Tests in a short period of time.

Overton rivalling Root for bad reviews.

With Woakes injured, Brook is likely to be left stranded with no one to bat with.

Overton has just ruined his Test average too.

No. At 7am on Thursday when it was pissing it down I thought it would be a draw as the forecast for all 5 days didnt look good.

But now I think there will be a result. And as I'm typing this we are losing wickets by the bucket load. We might not even get a lead.

Tell me, what has Jamie Overton done for England this test match? Apart from bowling pies and burning a review?

Woakes probably can’t bat so 215-8 in real terms

Don't know why we persist with the Overtons, must be better out there, surely

Vanity because the big wigs have eulogised it and money was the original motivation

Woakes' injury can't really be out down to playing too many Tests in a short period of time.
Maybe, maybe not. Tiredness and stress on the body makes it much less resilient, even to a fall. It can't be good for any of the players to be cramming in such intense cricket in such a short time. It is disgraceful

If Brook is still in should Woakes come out just so Brook might be able to tee off ??  Not expecting Woakes to do anything but all the time he is in the middle the innings is still "alive". He might only survive 1 ball but if it meant Brook farmed the strike for a couple of overs & got another 20 or 30 runs it might be worth it as this game might be won by a handful of runs.
