As the fan base gets older, less mobile and eats more sugary products than ever before 🤣ElfsborgAddick said:
Decided after 31 years they are too steep. Hmmmm.sammy391 said:

I believe also there is a plan in the Curbs stand to put in handrails along the aisles due to the steepness of the stairssammy391 said:-New flood lights, although don’t think they’ve gone in yet
- new Digital Advertising boards - which may or may not be on the operations HQ box - around the pitch and upper tier hoardings
- brand new big screen, which looks as if it could be rectangular rather than square
- presumably some funky light show effects too if MaxMaze are involved
- solar panels on roof (and Ops HQ box possibly) at somepoint
Seems a lot is going on at The Valley. Lots of ‘licks of paint’ tooCAST lead on this, leading the operations team at The Valley to research ideal ways to install without blocking the steps. Believe they settled on ‘P Rails’2 -
I can assure you they are getting steeper every year.ElfsborgAddick said:

Croke Park yesterday.4 -
Shock revelation - Younger, still physically mobile men and women who don’t give a second thought to their surroundings, weight or well-being (choose if/as appropriate) get 30 years older and often/usually see those surroundings from an entirely different perspective 😉ElfsborgAddick said:

You will have to stand up for your rights!LargeAddick said:As someone who sits in an aisle seat they had better not obstruct my view.2 -

Didn't the FA or FL ban such designs a few years ago? LIke they haven't got more important things to worry about.1 -
With steep stands a handrail is, if anything, more important when going down. With crowds surging down the stairs, it's very easy for people to trip and fall.1

I think the FA banned designs where there the main lines across the pitch weren't straight across, as it would be a nightmare for linos judging offsides.0

God that looks fucking awful, I hope I never see that on a football pitch in this countryiaitch said:

Most of us in the Upper West are long past surging anywhere...unless it's to the loo!killerandflash said:With steep stands a handrail is, if anything, more important when going down. With crowds surging down the stairs, it's very easy for people to trip and fall.9 -

In terms of improvements and maintenance, I take it the club foots that bill on top of the rent? You'd hope certain things would come out of a Belgian pocket but we should be so lucky!1

Lots of the stadium looks like it's been painted black?1

In homage to the Rolling Stones?3

Relax. Three little birds told me yesterday not to worry about a thing, because every little thing is going to be alright.eaststandmike said:

‘Temporary’ signage installed on the fronts of both West & covered end tiers.Looks like the lyrics to VFR, presume the digital screens will be installed nearer Christmas?0
-
If a new big screen is in place (as visible behind the CharltonTV crew last evening) then they have once again positioned it too low for much of the AC stand to view comfortably.0
-
load more work to be done on screens, LEDs and lights in the three weeks between the Leicester and Millwall games, and then during the gap between the Blackburn and Sheffield Wednesday in late September1

But I want it all now ! 😆
All sounds good. Don’t pretend to understand why bigger crowds affected the digital boards but there you go.

looks very smart with all the additional black replacing the yellow0

Noticed the Lions games recently the touchlines were yellow, so if we do that then it would look Jamaican.eaststandmike said:

Is there a rule/law that touchlines have to be white?0 -
They used to be orange when there was snow on the ground.iaitch said:
