Pubs, and the demise of.

Think the City is almost 7 days a week now! Was in Leadenhall Market a few weeks ago - was heaving, New Moon was packed.

New moon is printing money and Feeneys, which I know a few posters on here patronise, have three locations now and serve the best guiness in London IMO. 

Nancy Spain is opening a new bar in Fenchurch St, they will be selling Murphy’s. Beamish can now be found at Gibney’s in Old St.

Nancy’s been there a while mate, at least six months on the site of the old wine lodge. Think they may only have the upstairs but may be wrong. The Murphy’s is insane.
I’m about to complete the holy trinity of gibneys as I’m in NYC at the moment and have been to malahide and old street venues 👍

The golden goose in Leadenhall seems to be making a killing also. Worst bar to get served I've seen in many a year!

I can pretty frequently be found in the New Moon at lunchtimes, great place to people watch with a pint

Used to work directly opposite Feeney's, have to admit i was a bit cynical when I saw it turning in to a bar as the building had changed hands a lot and no business ever stayed longer than 2 years it seemed. I went in a few months back and was pleasantly surprised. Good drinks, atmosphere and even had a spice bag.

@guinnessaddick As mentioned it ahs been opened since November i think.  I only noticed it myself a month ago and I work opposite! I made the mistake of going in there late one Thursday night.  I was at least 30 years older than most in there so wont be returning at that time of night ever again.

There's an opportunity in Westerham if anyone fancies it. There's 3 pubs and a social club, none of which really offer any decent real ales and 3 of which only want to focus on food. I think a proper wet led micro pub in the old tattoo shop that's now up for rent could do well looking at the local demographic and the regular visitors (Chartwell / Cyclists / Classic car enthusiasts / Bikers etc etc ) vrs what's on offer at the moment. 

I would be seriously looking into it myself, but due to health and being far too busy with other bits, its a no go. Already got a good name for it though.....

I know/knew that area very well..I think it was in the cellar of the white Hart on the corner of bishopsgate and Liverpool Street but I would certainly have been in there.I worked in Liverpool Street 78 to 89 .Think it was La Capataz 

Just did a bit of googling ..on the corner of great Winchester Street and Old Broad st..just Capataz..remember walking past many times but couldn't afford to go in at the time..think it disappeared when that part of OBS was redeveloped 

Capataz is Spanish for foreman or supervisor
