CHARLTON SIGN NEW CEO - DANE MURPHY (p13. Oh no they don’t)

That's strictly forbidden and would land the club in a whole heap of trouble.CafcWest said:
Well his Linked-in profile says he is an independant consultant...so probably (at the moment) freelance. If he is doing some consultancy for the club working for himself I wouldn't have thought it would be a problem as long as he isn't signing stuff as CEO.Chizz said:I hope he's not working as a shadow director, or in an ad hoc, agency or consultancy basis while awaiting the ODT. It would be typical for Charlton to receive ODT approval for the new CEO and then immediately face sanctions because he's been working prior to the approval coming through.2 -
But communicating it badly. As per.Weegie Addick said:I think the club are rightly being very careful on this.10 -
Still haven’t heard anymore re Dane Murphy.
Is this going to happen ? or not.0 -
Last thing Cawley mentioned was the club was expecting him to be in post before the season starts. Guessing within the next two weeks?3
-
His next 2-weeks are crucial19
-
We can't have it both ways... asked for more checks when we had Southall. It is what it is and he is probably running the show om a "consultancy" basis0
-
Cheers for that, must have missed it.RedRobin said:Last thing Cawley mentioned was the club was expecting him to be in post before the season starts. Guessing within the next two weeks?0 -
I do wonder how he’ll fit in with the current recruitment team/process0

I think they’re waiting for him to be on board before the really big signings startFloebot said:I do wonder how he’ll fit in with the current recruitment team/process

"The appointment is subject to the completion of the EFL Owners and Directors’ Test and the appropriate documentation."
Been 7 weeks since the initial announcement. Hmm.3 -
The problem arose allegedly when he turned up to the EFL interview in somebody elses Range Rover, and started handing out bottles of Tizer and Walkers multipacks...SELR_addicks said:"The appointment is subject to the completion of the EFL Owners and Directors’ Test and the appropriate documentation."

I gather he's not been appointed after all?
On the look out for a new CEO.0 -
We should get the love rate CEO from Astronomer in. He knows his onions.6

Apparently we've interviewed him, and were impressed when he said: "and I will try, to fix you"MickeyBennett said:We should get the love rate CEO from Astronomer in. He knows his onions.2 -

Initially posted this on rumours thread-
there’s a post from a Vitesse ‘fan account’ on Twitter yesterday afternoon saying his shares have been sold to their majority shareholder. Hopefully that’s the issue sorted. This the post, though in Dutch.1 -
So from what I can decipher and I'm sure other people know a lot more than I do about these things
Vitesse had a previous American owner that the Dutch FA had issues with , then this group with Murphy appears in Feb? but their takeover hasn't been ratified as of yet because the Dutch FA want proof that it's not a shadow consortium for the previous bidder to continue running things behind the scenes and have threatened to revoke Vitesses licence to play at unless they satisfy this?1 -
Apologies for calling Murphy a "Great Dane" when he may just be a poodle.
I had been giving him praise for being part of this resurrection of Charlton's fortune when he wasn't even in the building 🤷🏼♂️0 -
Might as well try and poach Gary Sweet. He'll know half the squad anyway.

Should we hold fire here. Hasn’t the suggestion that he’s not joining come purely from the no noise from the club along with this “sensitive announcement “ by the club which tragically has nothing to do with Murphy. Have I missed something?6

7 weeks ago today when the announcement was made on the clubs website0

Yes mostly, but also seems a bit odd that it would take over 7 weeks to be fully ratified.ShootersHillGuru said:Should we hold fire here. However, perhaps the process is lengthy and that's why it's taken as long as it has.

Why do we always react so negatively to things just because they go quiet or take a bit longer than planned? Sit back, relax, and it’ll all work out7

I would think that the links with other clubs and ownership wrinkles means that this specific appointment takes a bit longer than usual, simply because there are more boxes to be ticked and checks to be made than is normal.SELR_addicks said:

What, like the delay in approving ESI, you mean?Sheepie1985 said:Why do we always react so negatively to things just because they go quiet or take a bit longer than planned?
