First time I've seen him say something positive, well done Dwane.
    Who is Dwane?
Dane Murphy but obviously he can't be involved in anything yet

Is this the most we’ve ever spent in a transfer window? Or do the PL days beat it
We had that window under Dowie where we spent a lot... On shit
Couple of legends at bargain prices what you talking about

Jesus . Two of the worst players ever to put the shirt on . Dowie should have been locked up !
I will never understand giving Dowie more money in one summer than Curbs had had combined pretty much.

Loads of Reading fans saying we have had a 1.8 million bid accepted for Harvey Knibbs.
Wrexham have also had their bid accepted

Trying to remember the other signings bar Diawara that summer? Think he was another £3.5m but now my minds gone blank on the rest

Didn't Curbs see Murray after that window, and jokingly complain that he never got given those sort of funds?

As well as a RWB, I’d still like to see another CB come in. Feels a bit light there.
Bell, Gillesphey, Jones, Zach, Alex, Ramsay, Burke - I could see Zach going on loan or Alex loaned/sold rather than another CB signing.
I’m not sure either Mitchell is good enough.
I think Zach is potentially another Gomez/Konsa, not sure if Alex will get past some of the defenders in front of him but football can throw up some situations that opens doors for players when it didn't seem possible.

Defenders tend to get better with age, Zach was twenty last January.
I believe a good manager can get an elaborate tune out of Zach, even a symphony, although Alex is already a decent rock and roller and I believe that’s how he will stay.
On the subject of defenders getting better, not that he was great yesterday, but Michael Morrison is still in the jukebox to my surprise.

They were all crap apart from Carson too, and yes I include the perennially unfit and overweight, albeit very talented Andy Reid in that

We spent £12 million that window.
We’ll have spent around that this summer if we get Knibbs, and maybe over it if we sign 1 or 2 more.

Didn't someone say a while ago we had 17m to spend on transfers ? Possibly they knew something.

I think that was the wage budget.

This is surreal ... I guess at least partly because the last two promotions we didn't have any money to spend reall

would be happy with this against Watford!  Few headaches in there.
I was doing my starting line ups last night on notepad 🤣 felt like I was 12 again with all these new signings and rumours,I pretty much came up with this same team think I had burke instead of Gilly but due to injury I doubt that will happen, the 9 subs looked great too.

Assuming Kanu can go on loan now, hopefully get a week in with new team before the season starts next weekend

Would expect Kanu and Asiimwe out on loan this week now. Don't think NJ was impressed with Asiimwe yesterday.

It was @Pavoren007 at Glasto I think, and they got poo-pooed by a few and told that £17m must be the total budget for signings, and the agents money, and the wages for all the squad too.

I'm amazed we're close to actually getting there tbh, I thought maybe we'd spend 8m or so but I was basing that very much on signing 8 players and averaging £1m per signing. If we get Knibbs in too, and Fukuda as a bonus on top, that's probably our biggest ever outlay in a single window

I came up with Mannion/AMB, burke, bell, doc, berry, godden, Tanto, Carey, TC 😂. Serious depth

There are surely some people due to leave pretty soon.
Maybe one or two we regard with affection and gratitude, maybe even a ‘shock’ departure to balance the books a bit.

I can’t see Godden not starting but either way, that’s pretty close I’d say.
