I'll go with the flames as long as we don't have a kisscam.14

Would be easier just to tell us as of 4pm today we have sold …… so many.
End of.3 -
They are doing it to get people thinking they will miss out if they don’t buy quickly.FOMO.15

Golfie will not be happy having to get up and down from his seat for people leaving early for half time.
What would be the point in them announcing we are set to have a crowd larger than the 16,000 that turned out to see a game in the third division in a random season where the team achieved nothing?1 -

But that is not the purpose of the messaging. It’s a positive messaging campaign, aimed as a prompt to get people excited, fear of missing out of preferential seats so encouraging to purchase earlier. That then leads to next level messaging of further strong sales etc till it gets to a figure they feel confident of actually saying. It worked for the Wrexham game, the last game of the season and hopefully it will work again here.14 -

I see what looks like to me to be the verbal equivalent of a picture of some packets of crisps and bottles of fizzy pop and wonder why such a positive message has to be cryptic…
18,19 and 20k tickets sold at this stage isn’t something for other clubs fans to mock. At the Valley it’s something they should be fearing…1 -
We will get about eight games with attendances above 20,146.
A number the other two Championship London clubs will never get at their grounds.
Watford don’t count, as Watford is to London as Crystal Palace are, i.e. not London clubs.3 -
I hope they have all the fireworks and flames 🔥
Makes for a fantastic atmosphere as the players walk out.3 -
Just to put a bit more perspective into this, it looks like Orient didn’t put their tickets on sale until 24th July last year whereas Watford have already sold their 3k ticket allocation. I can’t find the announcement for when Charlton put the home tickets on sale last season but if the near treble the same stage last year sales comparison includes the Watford sales then I suspect they are going to look pretty good.

Interesting that Watford have no points system, but instead have just one ticket per season ticket holder.0

Sometimes I wonder how much some people want Charlton Athletic to succeed.11

I’m pretty confident we could have a bumper crowd on the day but something doesn’t quite seem to add up. Just a shame they couldn’t have put a number for sales so far in that message if they are so good.

those additional STs sold and extra away fans not necessarily being matched by home stand match specific ticket sales just yet I guess.Nearly 3 weeks to go and plenty of ticket availability (40% of the ground ? - that’s only a guess) unless the club or somebody suddenly announces 20k + have already gone so why would anyone panic in to buying a ticket now, unless they only want one in the Covered End, Upper north or Family stand where they most likely would/will naturally sell out first ?0 -
Between season tickets and the Watford allocation that will be around 14k, I think it is reasonable to expect 6k to be sold on a general sale.
