Watford at home 9th Aug

Anyone know how many tickets sold so far? Saw a post on FB saying sold out??
@clive I’ve seen you post updates on ticket sales for away games. Can you do home as well and where do you get the info

Still tickets left in every single block. Club don’t do updates on home ticket sales in the same way as away games

Think it was Watford selling out

Looks like fairly good sales though gotta be 20k plus even if a load of holiday no show STH

Definitely not sold out and it won’t come close to selling out.  Hopefully we’ll have 20K plus

"Won't come close to selling out"?

It will be closer to being sold out than it will to being empty.

Wonder how many no shows there will be. Aren’t kids already back at school by then?

I bloody hope not, as that would be at least three weeks earlier than usual.

The Facebook post said K block in the Upper Covered End had sold out (no idea if true).

So, when it sold out for Watford, will the club restrict the sale of tickets in the home end by taking it off general sale?

Isn't that the one with about 20 seats in it?

Edit. It's got 100 seats in it and is indeed sold out.

It's then sold to members or with a purchasing history.  It used to be anyway.

    I reckon we'll advertise 21k.

No, we'll just give them the whole of the upper west.

Let’s be thankful it will be much nearer “sold out” than if our opener was against Mansfield, or Port Vale etc 😊

Hope we draw pert vale in the cup and the weather is a bit nippy.

I’d hope that the crowd will be around 24k for our first home game back in the Championship. I’d personally be disappointed if it were any less after the clamour for tickets for the Wycombe game then Wembley.

A play-off semi-final and Wembley final are one-offs, totally different. You can’t miss those games, and loads of fans will want to come, so the club made sure to hype them up.

As for the first game of the season, I’m really looking forward to it, but I get why there are still plenty of tickets available. Addicks fans have 23 home games to see the team. Personally, I’m buzzing to watch the new players.

My guess: 22–24K, especially if the Watford end sells out. I know two Watford fans keen to come to The Valley.

Thanks for the heads up, I hadn’t realised that if we win this one the next game will be the final at Wembley…

Yeah Blackburn end of September is probably the first home game I can get to for that exact reason.

The two games you mentioned were full of wives, girlfriends, partners, grandparents and grandchildren. There won’t be the same enthusiasm for a bog standard league game however I am expecting at least 20k

Holidays might slightly impact it but 22-24k seems feasible.

Would be disappointed if that is the tickets sold number IMO. 10k season tickets + Watford tickets sold is already about 13.5k. Would hope our first match in the championship and all the excitement that brings would shift more than 5k match day ticket sold.

Let's say it settles at 12k ST and 3k away that's already 15k. Quite a few tickets already sold, so I think we should be able to break 20,000.

Walk ups on the day will be interesting as we continue to penalise late purchasers.
