That signals to me we are either stacking up debt, or are being bankrolled by philanthropic rich people,
Personally given our history I always feel unsettled by the club being financially vulnerable, and a lot of the money side of things we’re invited to take on trust.
That is another reason I am a big fan of developing our own players, it is cheaper and can often pay off with transfer fees incoming.

But after the Bolton game at home, Nathan Jones said: "I’ve got people inside the club who don’t think he can't play as an eight – it’s lucky I make my own decisions!" So presumably that's where he was playing.0 -

also at this stage important to not put to much pressure on the lad.0 -

Isn’t it nice to read stuff like this

Going back to Apter I just watched his goals from his time at Tranmere.
He's really got the potential to be one of those who gets you off your seat. As direct and JBG - he gets the ball and his instinct is to bear down on goal.
And I love that he appears to be a bit of a cocky little shit too - not afraid to give it to the opposition fans. I have the equivalent of a Fanny Tingle I think38 -

Would expect they're wanting to sell Doughty and Mark McGuiness for substantial fees to fund signings.0 -

Enslin is very versatile but Chris Lock thinks LWB will be his best position10

Don’t forget you can have 9 on the subs bench in the Championship.9

Love on the Blackpool vs Shrewsbury highlight that Albie got turned around twice for the Shrews goal. Just like old times1

Maybe he just didn't want to come, but to me his credentials are far stronger than Apter's.
Still no stand out signing for meI worry where the goals will come from in this squad. No proven championship striker, given Godden's age.
I'm still excited that it will be championship football this season though, but I suspect we will be witnessing more grind out results football from us. Hopefully we can finish 21st.0 -

I'd also imagine that a lot of their squad who they still have from the PL season, don't want to 'slum it' back in league one, hence they're on their way.0 -

I am kind of surprised we haven’t had any outgoings yet. I would have thought some of the players would have had loans lined up by now.2

Callumcafc said:Going to bang the xG drum so skip me if you don’t care for it.
Over the last two seasons he has massively outperformed his xG both times. This indicates towards a player who, when he gets into a scoring position, tends to find the back of the net more often than other players.
Finding a player like that is obviously good for any team but you’d think would be critical for a side expected to finish in the bottom half of the table and need to make the most out of limited attacking options against high quality opposition.
Wish I could bookmark my own posts but I would not be at all shocked to see a few 0-1 or 1-1 scores next season where R. Apter is our only goalscorer.
24/25: 8 goals from 4.83 xG in League One (69 shots total)
23/24: 12 goals from 6.57 xG in League Two (103 shots total)Per Cawley’s Substack he also greatly underperformed his expected assists too (3 assists from 6.02 xA) so shows he can create a fair few chances too2 -

swords_alive said:So far so good in terms of transfer business maybe, but can't help thinking Watford must be rubbing their hands at the prospect of playing us first game. Established club that they are up against Jones and some Luton misfits. They will bring all the heat of a Beds/ Herts derby and walk away with a 2-0 win at least i expect. Similar outcomes with home games against Leicester, Millwall, then Blackburn to look forward to. We will be dissecting all that's wrong until October quite possibly, when we might finally sneak a win.
