Deadline Day from Pg.641 - Summer 2025 Charlton Athletic Transfer Rumours
Comments

I reckon there will be two or three more coming in, given Nathan’s comments after Dartford14

Linfieldos at it again.
Absolutely agree. So excited to watch their relegation.
I have 20 quid on them to be relegated with the lowest ever Championship points total.
In response to
Genuinely fear for Charlton next season - bought OK League One players to strengthen what was already an average League One side. See you next year boys.

Apter is 2.5m but only 100k upfront. We're using The 'Ahadme Structure.'1
-
OK league one players? Absolutely bizarre comment.
Blackpool given the trouble their owner is in in the far east for insider trading could be in for a rough season.0 -
The more we dwell on these bloody posts from deluded Blackpool and Orient muppets, the more they will continue, no doubt they are reading our forums and lapping it all up...9

This Apter one has all the aspects of a Charlton signing that turns into a ball ache of mediocrity and disapointment.
This could just be the Mystic Meg side of me.3 -

It's quite exciting not knowing what your best 11 is.6

Following the team for over 50 years this transfer window has certainly been one of the better ones and lets be honest we've had some absolute shockers.
I agree with a few lifers that a couple more players beyond Apter (if he's coming) are needed so another holding midfielder and a striker would be sensible.
As much as I love Godden he may struggle in the Championship being another year older and Leaburn definitely needs to be managed carefully so it doesn't leave a lot left up top assuming Tanto starts every game.
We have 46 Cup Finals coming up and survival is absolutely paramount whilst we start to establish ourselves again.
One last question... does anyone know if Adhame is in Slovenia or is he surplus and likely to go? I can't seem to find any answers/news anywhere.5 -
There’s a list in the preseason thread, Ahadme if he’s in Slovenia hasn’t been spotted in any videos or photos yet. I’m guessing he’s not as he wasn’t involved vs Dartford either. Hopefully we can move him on sooner than later, even if it’s only on loan.peterreeves said:Following the team for over 50 years this transfer window has certainly been one of the better ones and lets be honest we've had some absolute shockers.

I can only think of the Chris Powell league one window that’s been as good as this, if we bring in a few more it will be the best ( on paper ) that I can think of.4

Yes because the 3 Luton lads and Joe Rankin-Costello are League One players hahaScoham said:Linfieldos at it again.

In terms of outs it must be: Ahadme (Loan hopefully Perm), Asimwe (Loan), Rylah (Loan?), Kanu or Mbick (Loan), AMB (Loan or Perm), A Mitchell, T Taylor (Probably Jan due to injury).2
-
An average L1 side that finished 4th on 85 points and then won the Play-offs. Average is an interesting way to describe the third best team in a league of 24Scoham said:Linfieldos at it again.

Message to Blackpool supporters, the definition of average L1 is Albie Morgan.Enjoy another season of expecting promotion but failing to make the play offs
👋🏻 bye bye from the championship xx11 -
Not meant to be a glib comment but assuming Apter signs then the next two will probably define our season. We need a striker and a midfielder. If those two are even slightly wow I think it’ll be the best transfer window in all my time supporting Charlton.1
-
He won't see us next year anyway cos REG, Bakinson and Clare are going to fire them into League 2 next season.5

We haven’t seen any of them play yet . I hope it’s as good as the JBG/ Buyens/ Bulot/ Vetokele / Joe Gomez being ready window .Yann897 said:I can only think of the Chris Powell league one window that’s been as good as this, if we bring in a few more it will be the best ( on paper ) that I can think of.1 -
Stop giving the troll on the Blackpool forum the attention he craves, best to ignore them.8

Perhaps not all Charlton fans are capable of sustaining such an achievement for, erm.... very long? 🤔DessieValley said:
Is this why orient fans called us vile 🤣Callumcafc said:Swisdom said:Going back to Apter I just watched his goals from his time at Tranmere.
He's really got the potential to be one of those who gets you off your seat. As direct and JBG - he gets the ball and his instinct is to bear down on goal.
And I love that he appears to be a bit of a cocky little shit too - not afraid to give it to the opposition fans. I have the equivalent of a Fanny Tingle I think

Exactly, love the enthusiasm but 'best ever transfer window' is potentially a bit over the top !wmcf123 said:

I think we're still going to be in for a shock in terms of the levelling up in terms of what we're up against.
Feels a positive window but I'm completely ignorant to pretty much all we've brought in other than the stats.8 -
Vile signs:

Yes, and knowing we can pack a bench of 9 subs.....when a few years ago we couldn't even get 5 on the bench in our opening match against Sunderland.killerandflash said:It's quite exciting not knowing what your best 11 is.8
