Phil Parkinson when he was a pundit for the play offs said no doubt Wrexham and Charlton would be looking at the same sort of players in the window if Charlton win the final. That doesn't seem to be the case so far.1 -
Yeah I think they could be in trouble unless they get this supposed chequebook out of theirs. Played functional football and I don't rate Parky at this level.AllHailTheHen said:

Agree. The gap between the championship and league one has grown over the past 5 years. Its no coincidence that the teams people are tipping for relegation have been in league one fairly recently.Braziliance said:

All we have to do this season is survive. We've made strong, sensible signings of players who are good ages on decent length contracts. You can't build a brilliant team in one window without spending an insane amount but you can build something and then grow it. If we stay up this season then as it currently stands we have no loan signings and as far as I remember no key players due to be out of contract. Assuming we don't get asset stripped next summer we can look at the areas where we struggled and build on that with the next year's budget. Didn't score enough? Spend relatively big on one striker because we don't have to redo the whole squad. Without tempting fate it feels like the Roland/Sandgaard etc days of needing that season to be a success because you were starting over the next one are in the rearview mirror. It's exciting and pretty much unheard of to have players we might see play for us for 3 or 4 years24

Or people do pay attention to the championship and other teams by side Charlton and just have a different opinion to you, I think you’re underestimating the momentum we have and the team Jones has built and the togetherness we have as a club the last 6 months.Braziliance said:

He increasingly looks closer and closer to going to Charlton, although I’m led to believe that Parky is still very much keeping tabs on that situation. My counter to that would be that they’ve known the price for a while £2.5m-£3m.

Pompey, Derby and Oxford all had times last year where it looked like they would go down. I think we will be right in the scrap at times unfortunately but do back us to stay up. I wasn't surprised Wrexham went up last season, as their way of spending made sure they sped through the lower leagues.
