  • Think it has to be Doc, excellent captain last year, it’s about setting an example for the rest of the team and he looks like he works hard, trains hard and has his head screwed on, excellent example to younger players keeps himself in top shape. If he dosent play every game so what? That’s where your vice captain(s) step up. The overall presence he brings is worth the armband,

would be very harsh to take it away from him and I'm sure NJ won't.

Doc will be club captain and captain when on the pitch
  • If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Just my opinion though.
  • Feel bad for Doc reading some of the comments here, so badly unappreciated for what he does.

He’s the Captain, end of. Others can have their opinion and ask the question, there’s nothing wrong with that. The simple answer is to point to the record number of clean sheets HIS team  (because that’s what they are once the game starts) achieved last season and the trophy and promotion HIS team won.
  • Interesting (or not depending on your POV) to see Burke was given armband for 2nd half.

Thought that initially but then realised the only other candidate on the pitch was Anderson really

Jacko was club captain for a long time when not always first choice. Leave it as is

That's going a bit far. If credit is being dished out for clean sheets, then after NJ, Jones and Ramsay would be top, followed by Gillesphey,  Edwards and the keepers. With Coventry ahead of Docherty,  when you consider the number of tackles and interceptions he made.
