Just throwing a name out there because we need a CM and he was impressive for Bolton , wonder if Paris Maghoma would be an option from Brentford?7

At this rate we'll end up buying Kennel-sized Road off them!ValleyGary said:Next Signing imminent….

Happy with Burke what we still need some serious creativity and a good RWB10

Yep it’s our attacking options in midfield that bother me. We must have a creative link between defence and attack. Someone who receives the ball at gets an attack started. Someone very good on the ball. We’ll no doubt have a high press so there will be ball won and once we have possession we have to have someone available to set up the strikers. Berry is our best option right now but I’d definitely like an upgrade. Carey is an unknown quantity and it’ll be interesting to see how he fits in.ValleyGary said:Happy with Burke what we still need some serious creativity and a good RWB5 -
I also read Blackburn were after him, would be a good signing if it happened. Another at a good age to improve but with plenty of experience.West2003 said:We've reportedly shown interest in Cody Drameh: https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/hull-city-transfer-stance-demand-103309650 -
Enough defenders now...
That central mid position is vital now.
As some have already said Doc may not be good enough, Carey is a complete unknown, Berry is okayish, Karoy maybe not ready and gawd forbid Coventry gets crocked so I'd like a couple of midfielders and a winger to cover for TC.8 -
With Brum signing Doyle this week he must be slipping down the pecking order, so it could be possible. I personally feel NJ will want a more championship hardened player in that position, although I'd be very happy with Leonard also is he an NJ player, lets face it he doesn't seem to have much needed for midfield passers.Callumcafc said:I still want Marc Leonard0 -
Spurs mate reckons they are looking to loan out Donley again, but to Championship this time, as they want to see if he can go another level up.9
-
Was initially thinking PL loan that had been mentioned earlier and that he was the right kind of profile in terms of what he brings to a team , then I realised he's already 24 so could potentially be a permanent. I know Brentford have lost Norgaard as a holder but Maghoma hasn't really broken through so could be either or.haff5 said:
Exactly the kind of player I pray we go for. Up and coming. Very technical. Massive potential sell-on value.MarcusH26 said:Just throwing a name out there because we need a CM and he was impressive for Bolton , wonder if Paris Maghoma would be an option from Brentford?0 -

At this point Leonard is probably 5th or 6th choice there but he's easily upper League 1 / lower Championship quality - with scope to still improve, being only 23 years old.6 -
It’s not enough defenders, we’ve not replaced Small at all. We need at least 1 out and out rb coming inpeterreeves said:Enough defenders now...

Defence is now sorted, attack has been strengthened a bit, it's midfield that now needs sorting.
I'd prefer an experienced player preferably with couple of seasons Championship experience .. I just don't have much of a clue who, but say Jack Taylor, Ipswich, Hamza Choudhury, Leicester, somebody along those lines, thing is of course, players like that will cost
I m o we need to spend some big money on at least one other player or we will struggle .. I hope that plans are underway3 -
Not to digress, but if you look at our business so far (in and out), it looks decent

We’re exactly a month away from the start of the season, most teams have only been back one week and if we are going to bring in loans from the Prem (for example), we may have to wait for a couple more weeks given the club World Cup is only just finishing. I’m not saying we’re in for any loans from Chelsea etc, more so these clubs’ players will now have to have a couple of weeks off, and I think a lot of transfer activity gets driven down the pyramid, ie, the Prem clubs try to get in who they want and then we have a better idea of youngsters who will go out on loan, and if they go out on loan, does that suddenly mean X may be available from a championship club etc
personally speaking I’m happy with where we’re at, but want to see this momentum maintained31 -
Drameh will cost 1M Preston were interested but thought he was too much at that price. Good player and I’d like to sign him but rather invest more money into another midfielder and forward, considering if Burke and Ramsay are fit they’re nailed for that RCB, RWB rolehaff5 said:I don't see us spending money on Drameh, when we have Ramsay likely to start? Especially Burke presumably going in at RCB.
Unless it's a sensible fee (200/300k). But would they want to strengthen a rival?0 -
Drameh is more established than Small at this level, and at 23 still has big sell on value if he gets better.11

Matt Ritchie …. Wants to leave Pompey did not realise he was 35 years old , perhaps 1 year deal ??

This would be a great pick up on a 1 or 2 year deal. Matt Ritchie.

Can play left back. Good competition for Edwards. Could see him offering what McClean does for Wrexhamfenaddick said:Article says he wants to start, not sure where he would do that in our system?1 -
Article says he wants to be a guaranteed starter though, which is why he hasn't gone to their pre season camp. If we were in L1 he'd be worth a punt I think but I prefer EdwardsBraziliance said:

He's more of a 6, isn't he? I like him as a player but I don't think he's the sort of midfielder we need, albeit great to have in the squad.Callumcafc said:

Experienced, off of the back of a good season for Pompey, leader, might have more experience than most of our squad combined?fenaddick said:

I'd prefer our players to have genuine competition as we have stepped up a league, each to their own though.0 -
thought about him .. wages might be a problem, last contract he'll want a right good earner as well as (i m o) just a year or two too oldRonnieMoore said:Matt Ritchie …. Wants to leave Pompey did not realise he was 35 years old , perhaps 1 year deal ??0 -
Matt Ritchie has been bang average for about 5 years. 36 in 2 months time to boot, no thanks!37

Agreed but what on earth has any of this got to do with the National Railway Museum?cabbles said:Not to digress, but if you look at our business so far (in and out), it looks decent

Not at 35, though. Would rather someone with a sell on value.Braziliance said:
