Priority now must be an attacking midfielder
We’ve already got Berry & Carey - we won’t be signing anyone else for that role.
It's the Docherty position that needs strengthening

Remember Miles has been growing, he's only 21.

This must be the most CL discussion ever, debating how tall a player is and are the club making it up.

    I'm 6'3" by the way
    I have a 7inch knob.

    On Wikipedia it's 9 inches
    Not tall enough

uncertain about Bell (have we got him on the decline?)

    Very much so.

Like you, I live on the downmarket side of the Pond, and have watched Bell playing in Caribbean matches.

Still, he may yet recover some of his zip. He is certainly skilful enough, so I wish him all the best and will support him, as I do all Charlton players.

I'd say he's about 6'5, think the club are exaggerating his height a bit with that figure.
Why would they lie about that?
Problem with metric conversion. I blame Brexit.
That would explain how a trainee pharmacist that I was working with told me I had a 93in. waist earlier this year

PFA TEAM FREE AGENTS TEAM for the 1st Half - 1 nil up after 10 mins

Sam Cosgrove opens the scoring assist Dylan  McGeouch (who has been very good in the 1st ten mins covered a lot of the pitch)
Proud day for the Rialist family.

Miles being fit and firing wouldn't stop me still wanting another striker in the building, would want someone more in the poacher mould like the sniffer dog.
I think we will want another big man. Whenever plan A didn’t work last season we subbed Aneke on and hit long balls. We need someone for that. Leaburn can compete with Godden for one of the starting roles and is also a good impact player from the bench but we can’t rely on him being fit so need another big man
And Miles isn't just a big lump up front, indeed he's a bit wasted playing if just used as a battering ram.
Exactly, he’s better if you get the ball into his feet. We need someone else to be the battering ram to replace Aneke for that impact role
Miles is a weird one really as in someone who is supposedly 6'7 he's not that great in the air but is skilful with his feet.
Like his Dad, you mean? 😊

Had confirmed the team sheet had two misspellings both identically missing the starting letter ‘T’ - which is quite typical in a friendly game - players being trialled, not the misspelling of the word to describe such players…

Exactly, not like a guy to exaggerate anything by a couple of inches...🙄

We need some premiership loans , look at what we do for their careers , seems jones hasn’t been linked with one though

Premiership clubs may be reluctant to send their young prospects to play hoofball.

I expect we will sign one or two, though. Every club needs a couple of Smiths in the squad, and I do not think we have any coming through the academy at present?

Think we’ve got a base of a good team but still need 4/5 signings and 3 of those need to be starters.

    Kaminski

    Ramsay

    Burke

    Jones

    Gillesphey

    Edwards

    Coventry

    Doc

    Berry

    Godden

    Tanto

    Subs

    Mannion

    Bell

    Mitchell

    Anderson

    Carey

    Mbick

    Campbell

    Dixon

    Leaburn

    Gassan

    Taylor

    Kanu

    Z Mitchell

2 of those starters in midfield.  Not a good bench either .

Whatever happened to that promising lad A N Other who used to play in pre-season friendlies?

Surprised that Cosgrove can't find a club. Ok his form at Barnsley was pretty terrible but he's only 28 and surely still good enough for a league 2 club.

In an ideal world I would still like

1x starting CM -box to box
1x starting RWB - artacking in the style of small
1x winger -to compete with TC and give us option of a different formation, probably a prem loan
    1x back up CDM
    1x back up RWB

The last 2 are more nice to haves as we have others that can cover more than one role in those places. But I'm just worried it's the championship. Its much tougher than last time we were here. You need a big squad and depth. I'd rather not have 2 people covering multiple roles if can be avoided.

I wonder if CDM cover could be a veteran type signing on a free? As long as NJ doesn't sign Pelly Ruddock-Mpanzu who wasn't even good enough for Rotherham last season .

Agree other than the winger being a striker or striker/winger, we have a problem if Leaburn picks up another injury and any of TC, Godden and Olaofe don’t make the step up.

Happy to have Mbick or Dixon regularly on the bench, but if they step up it should be a bonus, rather than a must.

Definitely think we're a striker short ATM. Mbick I'd rather see out on loan , Dixon is the wildcard that I expect to be on the bench most weeks. Obviously Ahadme seems to have no future at the club and Kanu is already heavily linked with a loan away.

Wouldn't be surprised if we spent another good fee on someone that can hold it up.

Interesting that virtually no one’s wish list includes a LWB when we only have Edwards capable of playing there. Ideally we need someone like Watson who can cover both sides

My guess is we’ll go with Bell being an option at LCB and LWB. I don’t see Edwards being dropped which makes it difficult to bring in someone for that position. NJ won’t want to block Enslin’s pathway either.

NJ didn’t mention Bell being a LWB at all all the reports from Luton were that he’s much better as a CB now he’s a bit slower and his final ball is poor, I wouldn’t want us to rely on him there at all
