There’s a big difference between carrying the ball out from the back and being able to go past people on the wing and although I think he’s a great player, I don’t think he’s cut out for wing back if he is expected to be one of our main sources of attackDubaiCAFC said:
I agree, I honestly don’t get the Ramsey offers nothing going forward. He is a very good ball carrier! Be happy him playing RWB. But we will miss his pace in the back 3 and last ditch tacklesDamoNorthStand said:I seem to remember Ramsay being very strong and willing as a runner taking the ball forward last season.... maybe not taking people on per se.4 -
Bit harsh calling Terry Taylor a failure.Oggy Red said:

Maybe he does, but I would say that over recent seasons we have got better value for money buying players from clubs below us than from clubs above us. Successes and failures from both directions, but the failures from above have cost us a lot more.from clubs below us Ramsay big success Lloyd Jones big success Alfie May big success Mannion success Blackett-Taylor success Tennai Watson meh Payne partial failure Jayesimi failure Terry Taylor failure McGrandles failure from clubs above us Berry partial failure Terrell Thomas partial failure Hector failure Camara failure Fraser failure Abankwa failure Wickham failure Ladapo failure Edun failure Louie Watson failure Chem Campbell failure Tedic failure Bakinson failure Fiorini failure McIntyre failure Potts failure Allan Campbell failure Aneke total failure Ahadme disaster Kirk disaster
With the return of pre season training he will be like a new signing.13 -

So we have one person (who originally mentioned the defender) saying it isn’t Burke and another person saying it is Burke. Either one of them is wrong or we’ve got 2 deals lined up6

One of them will be a right Burke:-)fenaddick said:So we have one person (who originally mentioned the defender) saying it isn’t Burke and another person saying it is Burke. Either one of them is wrong or we’ve got 2 deals lined up14 -

Also where Chappell used to scout for Brighton.Photollery said:As someone who isn’t in the know, although a family friend is an ex player and coach in the Championship, I’m only seeing the ITK’s post about mostly English/Scottish clubs.Do you think there are a few unknowns we are seriously looking at abroad? Normally cheaper than the inflated prices here.0 -

Well he helped get Luton relegated twiceJac_52 said:Bit worried about the RB situation now we've seemingly missed out on our top 2 targets. Small getting harder and harder to replace.
Preston have done good business and I'm convinced they'll recoup most of the money spent on wages for Small at some point when they sell him. Offiah for a mill as well probably has upside for them.
Let's see what Chapple has up his sleeve.
To get relegated once Mr Chapple may be regarded as a misfortune to also get relegated the following year looks like carelessness. (Apologies Oscar)1 -

Pretty big for us but not for this level.fenaddick said:
Pretty big fees too, plus the rumoured wages for Kaminski. We clearly aren’t being run on a shoestring but we’re spending what we do have cleverly. I’d rather buy less players but have them be of a higher qualitysam3110 said:
Literally posting words like this, less than 3 days from paying fees for 2 other players, makes zero sense.Steven81 said:
Can only hope but the only worry for me is these two players were attainable at reasonable prices and would have improved us but we didn't want to push the boat out a little, players that are better than these and are championship proven or a level above will be 2/3 times their price so unless we stop being tight or have a bigger budget than we thought then fair enough but I can't see it tbh.Oggy Red said:
I'm not too disappointed though.Davo55 said:I'm not going to lie, I'm disappointed that we were haven't been able to sign Galbraith and Offiah.
But I'm happy with the business so far and have confidence that Charlton is now an attractive proposition for the kind of players we need to bring in.
Maybe they would have been good signings - but they were both Third Division players last season, and unproven at Championship level.
So were most of those in our team.
NJ has been telling us he wants to do more than just survive relegation and be competitive.
Perhaps our current targets played last season at a higher level than the Third Division? 🤔0 -
