Would be very excited for this one. Hoping we can get it done.0

Surely his song is based on kings of Leon, your sex is on fire. ?0

I think the best signing we could make would to get Ramsey signed up with a new improved contract. I fear this Offiah chap could be a replacement.3

Fair enough - Birmingham wanted him pretty badly so if we can do better things must be goodCAFCDAZ said:
as much as a rate Beadle, i don't want him. Believe i read a stat towards the end of the season that he had the most mistakes leading to goals last season in the Champ. not really what you want to see and read as a newly promoted teamDOUCHER said:
Was wondering similar - maybe an installment of the James Beadle deal is due ? Maybe James would come as well ? Definitely an optionCAFCDAZ said:
You'd hope our very long history of having a good relationship with Brighton might help us.RedRobin said:QPR also mentioned in the piece as a club interested, hoping Jones and Chappell Brighton links will put us in pole position.

Burnin’ ring Offiah5

I think Offiah reflects the difference between league 1 and the champ. In league 1 we could afford to play a more attack focussed full back. In the champ we will be set up differently. Whether it is Ramsay at RWB or Offiah.... a combination of the two of them covering RWB and RCB looks strong.11
-
Does run the risk of being a bit too defensive and lacking options to counter attack and come forward, especially now Small has gone. But that is something that you'd hope Jones has accounted and planned for.DamoNorthStand said:I think Offiah reflects the difference between league 1 and the champ. What degree of difficulty is that? The Red Robin said:
I love watching players from the double pivot on the half-turn inbetween the lines progressing the ball.Pelling1993 said:
It's utter woke nonsense it what it is. "Playing on the half-turn" is another one that winds me up, people trying to sound like they know what they're talking about.ShootersHillGuru said:What’s all this pivot bollox ?0 -
Yeah agree with that makes us way more solid at the back but would need to compensate with some extra attacking ability up front etc.thenewbie said:

I don't think Jones has ever made any secret of the fact, that his priorities have always been: Make sure you are solid at the back and work from there. No issues at all with him following the same philosophy over this transfer window.Steven81 said:

I am quite sure that in time he will bring in all the positions he wants.2 -
Be nice if Offiah could happen.0

“Lord Almighty, I feel my temperature', mmm
Higher, higher, it's burning through to my soul
Boy, boy, boy, boy, you're gonna set me Offiah
My brain is flamin', I don't know which way to go, yeah”

Thats a proper ITK!Red_Chester said:
yeah seems like Brighton don’t think he’s good enough for them and they strongly think he will join us (but you never know what can happen in football). Just asking if it would be a fee or a loan. As if they don’t rate players they usually don’t bother with loans and look to cash inRed_Chester said:I’ll message the person I know at Brighton to see if I can get any info…they do the transfer negotiations in but can see if they know anything.18 -
Find it hard to believe that both Sean Roughan and Paudie O'Connor are gonna end up in League1 again with Huddersfield and Wycombe.
Especially O'Connor, we should be all over him if we persist with a back 5, he's literally Lloydys twin.

Just speculating but maybe O'Connor is aware he might not get much game time ahead of Jones. Obviously all players back themselves and love a challenge but plenty are realistic with this stuff tooBraziliance said:Find it hard to believe that both Sean Roughan and Paudie O'Connor are gonna end up in League1 again with Huddersfield and Wycombe.

Agree I think he'd be a good backup to Lloyd and we're going to need that this season. I wouldn't feel comfortable without him out for any period of time in league 1 let alone the Championship.1

I would say more so it's cause we probably aren't interested.fenaddick said:

Which is a shame as he would probably start for us or at the very least be good cover in a championship squad. Him and Lloyd as 2 of your back 3 centre backs, good luck with any type of aerial threat.2 -
Maybe get Piergianni in and complete the trio. :-)Braziliance said:

Who do you drop though, Ramsay or Gillesphey? Presume it's the latter in which case you're playing a right footer at LCB who is used to playing in a 4 instead of a 3. Not saying he can't adapt but the R/LCB roles in a back 3 are different to your classic CB rolesBraziliance said:

One of the highest rated players in the league for the third successive season, imagine my shock.Callumcafc said:

Only Jones & O'Connor above him statistically for defenders. Piergianni is a top, top defender.0 -
I'm not discussing who I would specifically like to see dropped on here anymore.fenaddick said:

But he would be a welcome addition in a long season and who I genuinely believe has the quality to start for a lot of championship sides.

I think I’d be more interested in Roughan, young and left footed centre back’s that are good are rare. If we could develop him he could be worth a lot more in the futureBraziliance said:Find it hard to believe that both Sean Roughan and Paudie O'Connor are gonna end up in League1 again with Huddersfield and Wycombe.

Can see Z.Mitchell being Jones backup this season. Obviously question marks whether he’s ready for the step up or not but ur saving yourself a lot of money then giving O’Connor very high wages big signing bonus for just simply being Jones backup. I’d happily save that money and throw it towards Offiah knowing he’s a guaranteed starter for that RCB.covered_end_junior said:Agree I think he'd be a good backup to Lloyd and we're going to need that this season.
