Cawley said they’re open to letting him go permanently give them a high 6 figure fee and a 20% sell on clause and that should get it done0
-
I’ll message the person I know at Brighton to see if I can get any info…they do the transfer negotiations in but can see if they know anything.19

Tell them to just go into the office next door. The one with ‘OUT’ written on it.Red_Chester said:I’ll message the person I know at Brighton to see if I can get any info…they do the transfer negotiations in but can see if they know anything.39 -
Brighton tend to shake it all about occasionally, gives their staff something different to do from time to time, and then they turn everyone around.Uboat said:

At least thats what its all about9 -
Fair play, I don't go on here much anymore but didn't see your previous comment. Either way, hope he signs as he's a very good player.NabySarr said:
Going to steal your thunder here and point out I actually brought it up on the 29th May when we were linked with the other Blackpool full backSage said:
Happily point out I was the first to bring his name up on 30th May. Really hope this one happens 🤞🏻Sage said:One player I’d like for us to sign this summer is Odeluga Offiah.
Was excellent for Blackpool this season, on loan from Brighton so the link is there for Jones too. He’s a London boy and played for Bromley academy before joining Brighton.
Fully expect Watson to be released and the profile of Offiah is the type I anticipate we are after. Strong, athletic, aggressive, good on the ball. He might not be a flying wing back, he’s more a Ramsay type, but he’d be a fantastic signing for anyone in the Championship. I think the Premier League is slightly one step too far right now but he’ll get there.
Online says he’s out of contract but I do not think that’s correct.
Am I now ITK?3 -
If he's signed a new contract that sounds very much like a 'signed a new contract before joining someone else on loan'.
I'd take that tbh, would rather a permanent transfer but a good player for a season is still a positive.2 -
Think it might they’ve triggered an optional extension so they get paid. Suspect the one year left information was on the assumption that this would triggered

Brighton hardly need the few extra £s but business is business I suppose and they have helped his development. If Offiah is on the cards I hope he is wrapped soon as others will be interested for sure.1

It's utter woke nonsense it what it is. "Playing on the half-turn" is another one that winds me up, people trying to sound like they know what they're talking about.ShootersHillGuru said:What’s all this pivot bollox ?1 -

Offiah
- Great name for chants
- 22 with potential to improve
- and he's very good.
What's not to like. Sign him up.1 -
I just hope it isn't a loan and I also don't think he is an attacking right back, unless we are going to utilise him that way.
Either way, gives us a very strong right hand side with Kayne and Offiah as options, championship standards.3 -
Fingers crossed that you're right!TeeC said:Think it might they’ve triggered an optional extension so they get paid. Suspect the one year left information was on the assumption that this would triggered
Would rather a permanent transfer.1 -
We need at least two in in that RWB/RCB area, at the moment we've basically got Ramsay and Asiimwe (who I think will go back out on loan).Braziliance said:I just hope it isn't a loan and I also don't think he is an attacking right back, unless we are going to utilise him that way.

So if Offiah, Ramsay and one other (possibly more attacking) wingback are fighting for two places it'll hopefully give us good options depending on the opposition etc.1 -
Its a 10/10 signing on a perm, but still a strong 7/10 on loan. Very excited by this one if it comes off.8
-
Jones is famously not very keen on loans so I would imagine he'd be pushing for a permanent move if possible. If we can get that sort of quality in depth across the team then you'd have to say things would be be looking very positive.Braziliance said:I just hope it isn't a loan and I also don't think he is an attacking right back, unless we are going to utilise him that way.

Asiimwe definitely needs a loan, I'm not even sure I'd want him in the squad if we didn't go up. Hopefully Walsall will have him on loan and he can have a full season of development.North Lower Neil said:

If it's the boy Mulligan as the other option it will be very promising at the back, especially if we add Famewo.0 -
But Jones don't really like loans have to say I agree as long as there no call back in Jan ?North Lower Neil said:If he's signed a new contract that sounds very much like a 'signed a new contract before joining someone else on loan'.

as much as a rate Beadle, i don't want him. Believe i read a stat towards the end of the season that he had the most mistakes leading to goals last season in the Champ. not really what you want to see and read as a newly promoted teamDOUCHER said:
Was wondering similar - maybe an installment of the James Beadle deal is due ? Maybe James would come as well ? Definitely an optionCAFCDAZ said:
You'd hope our very long history of having a good relationship with Brighton might help us.RedRobin said:QPR also mentioned in the piece as a club interested, hoping Jones and Chappell Brighton links will put us in pole position.

A loan isn't much good to Brighton if his deal runs out in the summer of '26.Pelling1993 said:Its a 10/10 signing on a perm, but still a strong 7/10 on loan. Very excited by this one if it comes off.
It would make more sense if he's signed a deal so Brighton get a fee now but that doesn't mean it will be us and even if he is out of contract next summer he would still be 23 so attract a development payment.
Can I be the first to moan about "why are we only looking a players who were at Blackpool, what does Phil Chapple actually do, wibble, wibble"5 -
yeah seems like Brighton don’t think he’s good enough for them and they strongly think he will join us (but you never know what can happen in football). Just asking if it would be a fee or a loan. As if they don’t rate players they usually don’t bother with loans and look to cash inRed_Chester said:I’ll message the person I know at Brighton to see if I can get any info…they do the transfer negotiations in but can see if they know anything.
