Blimey, 52 is over the hill is it? Hilarious

Leaving us now would be an act of sabotage. Jones out!
Oh, wait...

Why? There is so much speculative bollocks written about all walks of life, let alone football even by reputable sources.J BLOCK said:
There’s clearly something in this with what’s being reported now and by whom.ShootersHillGuru said:Not suggesting that Jones has spoken with Cardiff and I doubt he will.I can’t see a world in which Cardiff hadn’t had some sort of positive signal from the Jones camp in order to push hard to get him.
Yes Cardiff may want him, but nowhere has he been quoted in recent times to fuel any speculation.
This thread needs to be pinned because there is going to be speculation about every vacancy that comes up over the next 12 months, that will swing from will he leave to when We are in the bottom six and calls to get rid abound.

Doesn’t seem to be anything new in the BBC or Darren W articles.1

To be honest i hope the Cardiff journo is just stirring the pot to get some attention.
I'd hope that our response to any enquiry for Jones was 'fuck off', not 'give us 1m comp and he's yours'.
With the owners all over here last week and the euphoria of Wembley, i can't believe that they'd be prepared to let him go for just 1m.3 -
Would be just our luck:
2012 promotion: money disappears
2019: Covid
2025: Jones going?11 -
The more that journo tweets the more I think it’s nonsense.
£1m is not enough and he’s constantly covering himself for if and when it doesn’t happen. It’s reminding me of the Charlton tactic of recent years where you act as if you’ve tried everything to get the man everyone wants but just couldn’t get it over the line.5 -

Ffs why can't we enjoy a bit of success without the worry of this or that happening!knowing my luck i will be re-incarnated as a Charlton fan10

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Jones comes out of this with a nice pay rise and some money added to our transfer pot this summer.
"I'll stay if you give me an extra 2m to spend on the squad" type of thing.10 -

Then again, there will suddenly be a phase whatever of the season tickets where they've now gone up by an additional £1000 -
He is not going anywhere, here he is ignoring a bluebird it's a sign...

I can't believe anyone is giving this article any weight. It doesn't have any information in it 😂Braziliance said:
You think there would be a soon to be a 10 page thread irrespective of the journo talk? Come on.cafctom said:Big part of me thinks that as a fanbase we’re sometimes very prone to seeking out worrisome outcomes, even when there is no immediate evidence of it.
During the playoffs Cardiff had already been relegated and in need of a manager, but there was little talk of this ‘speculation’.
Now that the Playoffs are done and we have no matches to focus on, it feels like we’re just gravitating to a story to fill the time.
It's a talking point because two different sets of fanbases have claimed our manager has held talks. With a local journo who is their reliable source (Cardiff) more or less confirming the manager they are after is Jones.
Now to add to it, Darren Witcoop has come out with the same story who seems fairly credible. Which tiew in with the original source, suddenly it's not just agent talk or made up nonsense anymore.

What it looking certain, is that Cardiff are definitely interested and have the intent to go for Jones.
Whether they can make it happen is something else.6 -

Whether they can make it happen is something else.Same as the BBC one, they and TeamTalk have just taken that tweet and run with it.“Cardiff like Jones” is about as far as it goes at the moment.1 -
My main worry is that we get Alan Mullery again.

Genuinely shocked to see some fans on Twitter saying we should hire Ruben Selles if NJ leaves. We can do a lot better than him.

The Selles who kept a struggling hull up and comprehensively beat us. Selles is a good manager who has recent experience in a championship relegation battleProperCharlton said:Genuinely shocked to see some fans on Twitter saying we should hire Ruben Selles if NJ leaves. Crispywood said:Has to be Wellens Challinor or Selles as a replacement
You are really running 🏃🏻♂️with this rumour Crispywood! Fair play to you even if you are going to lap yourself.
This time last Sunday we had just gone 1 nil up with Macca's free kick and now a band wagon is developing that the green, green grass of home is calling for Nathan to go west, back to his roots.
At Least if this occurs and I still don't expect it to happen but this is football that can defy logic, then at least none of our better players will be attracted to join him back down in League 1 other than Chuks and Watson who are looking for a football contract.
Blimey, you lots have got me at it now 🤦🏻♂️

Agreed. Surprised there are fans who think external appointments work with us, they don't. The best any of them ever did post-Curbs was a failed league one play off attempt with Parkinson.ProperCharlton said:Genuinely shocked to see some fans on Twitter saying we should hire Ruben Selles if NJ leaves. Apart from Nathan Jones who won promotion just 7 days ago?MartinCAFC said:

Would be surprised if he does, and if he does this would be up with Scott Parker, and would deserve nothing but abuse if we come across him again!8
