Deadline Day from Pg.641 - Summer 2025 Charlton Athletic Transfer Rumours

Doughty is on 25k a week, no chance.
Only way would be a loan and a part wage deal, but I reckon Luton will bank on going up with their parachute payments and try to keep the squad.
It will be weird if Doughty stays in League 1 though, he's genuinely upper champ/lower prem level.0 -
If someone is willing to pay 4mil for TC I’d snatch their hands off . As much as he’s been great this season , he’s unproven in The Championship . Show us the money .Scoham said:
I think you’re underestimating how much money Championship clubs spend. This won’t be completely accurate but gives a good idea.Bedsaddick said:

A promising young winger/striker can easily go for that sort of money, and a decent season in the Championship will mean he’s worth even more.

Looking at that table, surely that means the club will spend 5-15 million on transfers this summer. That seems surreal right now. Can't remember the last time we dug that deep.5
-
From my eavesdropped conversation between my mate and an academy coach on Sunday, that’s what the club value TC at .. £5mBraziliance said:TC is worth at least 5 million, easily.
Anything below would be a liberty with the money in football and his potential etc.
I wouldn't even be happy if we sold him for that as we wouldn't be able to get a player of his talent for a similar fee.
He's our next big money sale, and I think he and the club know it. Expect him to start a lot next season.5 -
For context Bristol city paid QPR 2.5M for Sinclair another youngster similar to TC with 3 goals and 3 assists in 61 championship games with a year left on his deal who was forcing a move out. If Campbell stays in the summer and can get a few goals and assist we can easily demand a fee north of 5M in the January windowBedsaddick said:

I’m sure Leaburn will go so we’ll generate some cash but I expect a tight ship on outlays.0

Valuations and what we would get for him will differ massively. He’s not worth 5mil but if someone is mad enough to pay that , then so be it ._MrDick said:

If he can prove himself in The Championship then I agree. Let’s hope we have that problem come January because that will mean he’s done really well .Crispywood said:

With the last 2 seasons Leaburn has had, he's not going anywhere.Berkshire1970 said:I’m sure Leaburn will go so we’ll generate some cash but I expect a tight ship on outlays.
The club simply won't accept a small bid for him and his injury record over the last 2 seasons will not command any bids big enough for the club to sell. I'll be amazed if anybody even comes in for him let alone puts more than about £1m on the table which I just don't see the club accepting.

It’s reported that Liverpool have set a price tag of £45m for Joe Gomez. What was our sell on %?3

Who would sign a player for what we’d ask who hasn’t been fully fit for best part of two years ? The answer is nobody. Not until he’s fit a proving he can stay fit and play in The Championship.Berkshire1970 said:I’m sure Leaburn will go so we’ll generate some cash but I expect a tight ship on outlays.1 -
Well if the club don't spend we will be coming straight back down.Berkshire1970 said:I’m sure Leaburn will go so we’ll generate some cash but I expect a tight ship on outlays.1 -
There is a person on another forum that might get a line on this before too long.0

I think similar to Small, it is in Leaburns best interests to sign with us. He will get a platform and he will have the fans on his side.
A wrong move could ruin his career. He's only 21 and a very confident lad, a good bit of rehabilitation and a proper pre-season and he could be an asset to us.
I'd be quite happy to see him signed up longer and see what he can achieve. He is the player at Charlton with the most potential still imo, his performance against Wycome was one of the standouts of the season, thay simply couldn't live with him, and that was when they were at their best as well.4 -
20% so 9M if he goes for 45MDannoo_86 said:It’s reported that Liverpool have set a price tag of £45m for Joe Gomez. What was our sell on %?12 -

That's Harvey Knibbs, Keillor-Dunn and Galbraith all signed up.

Not to be picky but I remember seeing a tweet from Cawley saying the figure was over 20% (without specifying the exact figure) but that was based on the profit made on Gomez not the whole fee.Crispywood said:

Probably only on the profit they make though so slightly less than that. Where was 20% confirmed?Crispywood said:

Is it going to be another of those windows where we don’t sign anyone because we were waiting for the Gomez money2

Quite happy that didn't go through. I am sure he's decent but we need someone for THE job, not to do A job.Charwill said:Jordan Gabriel who some were mentioning on here has left Blackpool at then end of his contract and signed for Port Vale!! Not sure he was good enough for us based on this news2 -
Interesting that Dixon starts in front of Mothersille for Jamaica today. But they do have McLaren for manager4

And Kahiem hits the onion bag!4

Can’t find where it was confirmed but I’m pretty sure that’s what I remember. Cawley confirmed back in 2020 we did still have a sell on clause though and 20% is usually the standard for youngsters as wellScoham said:

I’m guessing it was his agent using Nixon to help get him a better offer.Braziliance said:
