Sorry but am a bit out of touch supporter so at risk of asking the obvious why isnt there any comment on rumours Nathan Jones is wanted by Cardiff. Am sure this is ridiculous but folk in South Wales dont seem to think so.

I mean he's talked about this being a bit of a Project here at Charlton, we've just hired a Head of Recruitment who has worked with Jones very closely at other clubs. It would be extremely bizarre for Jones to go backwards at this stage.

It has been briefly mentioned on here but tbh logic says it won’t happen. NJ came here for a project and he has achieved the first part of it why would he go to Cardiff ? Back to league one when he can have a crack at the championship here ?

Football League World are suggesting Cardiff have NJ on a shortlist for consideration as new manager. Only very slight concern even if it’s true is that Jones is a Cardiff fan. I would be more concerned if we hadn’t got promoted and are now a league ahead of Cardiff who also have someone just as volatile as Jones as owner in Vincent Tan. I just don’t see Jones dropping back to division one after clawing Charltons way out or working for Tan. It’s Tans fault that Cardiff find themselves in the predicament of a league one campaign for the first time in 22 years. No way should Cardiff City be getting relegated to the third tier. Jones will be well aware what a basket case Cardiff are and will stay well clear.

One of their forums suggesting they have made contact and the odds have tumbled today...

I’d be absolutely gobsmacked if Jones went to Cardiff at this point. It’s such a bad fit for him and so full of risks with Tan as owner. He’s fallen on his feet at Charlton to be honest and until he joined us his star was in decline. He’s just starting to build it up again. Why would you gamble that on a nutter owner like VT

Would be absolutely bizarre to leave stability and a newly promoted club to leave for a relegated club owned by Vincent Tan.

He’s a huge supporter .  Suspect they would pay him more .

Even though I think it would be a backwards move, and it would be ridiculous after what he has achieved. If he is approached and they are willing to pay, he's gone imo.

He has left Luton twice with arguably more of a connection to them than us for better opportunities and if he's a man of his word, he would leave for Cardiff, hard to ignore this quote.

The “tweet X “ by a decent sports journalist sounds as if it could have at least Cardiff interest but why wouldn’t they be interested ?

Hylton (his mate) has just been added to the coaching staff, so it doesn’t sound like NJ is planning to go anywhere.

He's still very bitter towards us so I wouldn't be surprised. Cardiff will be in the top 6 at minimum next season

‘So Nathan, what made you jilt Charlton and join Cardiff?’

‘I always wanted to be successful in Wales, it was God’s will I was offered the role and no one can go against God.’
  • It would be the most Charlton thing, we get promoted and our manager decides to go back to that league with another team

It wouldn't surprise me. He's made a point of mentioning that fans wouldn't have been disappointed if he'd left after Crawley. It was deserved criticism then though , we were under performing. His meetings / discussions with the hierarchy , after last Sunday may have left him disappointed , if he is not being given what he feels is a competitive budget for next season.

If they were a Championship side I’d be worried.

Jones appears to be a manager that wants to work at the highest level possible. I can’t see him fancying another season in League 1

Jones left Luton to move upwards, not downwards. Cardiff isn't an attractive proposition at the moment.

Doesn't matter to me. He said he would never turn down Cardiff. If he's a man of his word, he will go if they approach.

If I was a Champ manager, and my club in the league below offered me, and I knew I could get them promoted, while paying me similar or potentially more, I'd be off.

I'm just hoping they haven't approached him cause I think he will be off.

He's still bitter about the November period, he still mentions it, and he has openly said on numerous occasions Cardiff is his dream job.

Bit of a basket case aren't they? It would be typical Charlton though.

Football season is over and the media needs to talk about something and so it turns on the rumour mill.

Why would he go there other than he’s Welsh and that’s no reason to drop to a basket case club like Cardiff who’s a league lower . It’s nonsense and we all know it .
