It won't change until at least 2029 when the current TV deal is up.0 -
Southampton at home0

We will have the dullest fixture possible, there's no danger of us having a standalone live TV fixture; that'll be reserved for the likes of Hollywood FC, Sheff Utd, Brum.
From a personal (and selfish) point of view I'd prefer an away game as it's my Dad's birthday on 8th August so I'd rather not have a home game getting in the way of the weekend!0 -
I always prefer away to extend the summer.2

I'd therefore like Oxford (h) then Pompey (a) then PNE (h). They could kick off at midnight for all I care, let's just get off to a flyer. Pompey had a horrible set of fixtures to kick off last season and couldn't get a win and it took them most of the season to kick on.
I can't remember the fixtures off the top of my head but i'm sure someone on here will know.0 -
I'd like a home fixture against a decent team, rather than a probable fellow struggler.
If we play someone like say Boro or West Brom at home there's a massive upside if we win, but can write off a defeat as "playing one of the big boys", whereas if we are home to someone like Oxford, there will be a LOT of pressure on us to win, and a defeat would be really morale sapping.2 -
Good to start with a home game after a successful previous season .. I'd fancy a WBA or Ipswich, a nice easy starter for3 lol0

Home please as I’m on holiday the week after0
-
Stoke away2

Home hopefully, big crowd and three points to set the tone.2

No legislation required - it's not a law, just a rule imposed by the football authorities on TV broadcasts in the UK. As such it is part of the TV deal with SKY/TNT/PRIME et al and therefore not likely to change before those deals are up for renewal.0 -

I remember looking at the fixtures when they came out and thought we're going down this season, we're not going to pick up a point until October at the earliest!
Some things don't change though:

Winnable home game would be ideal to start. Win first game in front of a big crowd and keep the momentum going from the end to this season0

West Ham (a), Man Utd (h), Bolton (h), Chelsea (a), Portsmouth (h), Villa (a), Arsenal (h) to start
Tottenham (h), Liverpool (a) to end

Whatever it may be, it’ll probably be my first solo Charlton trip. Would love to meet up with some of you horrible lot pre- and post-match0

Since before the playoffs I’ve had this feeling for Leicester away on the opening day.0
-
Home with a 5-0 win so I can take a screenshot of us being top of the league again0

There’s something nice about going alone. You inevitably bump into someone you know anyway but you don’t have the faff of arranging where/when to meet and there’s something nice about leaving the crowds of people at the end and just having time to yourself6

It may feel a bit daunting going to games on your own but it gets a lot easier the more you do it including away games, social media can help too and you’ll likely find some regulars you can join pre and post match too.1
