Sarf London residents, and those Sarf Londoners now dispersed worldwide are simply superb raconteurs (and as most of us are retired wiv loadsa time on our ands, we have lil else to do but become obsessed wiv CL))
  • When I first joined, we had a regular poster from one of the Sheffield clubs, I cannot for the life of me remember his user name. Miss piggy keeps popping in to my head but I am sure that is wrong!
Operation Pig. Think he was Wednesday, but seemed both fanbases called the other ones the Pigs.

The Rochdale lads who came on here when they’d suffered an infestation of Southall were great. A lot of information sharing took place and they greatly appreciate the clout of a much bigger fanbase backing them on Twitter. I am mates with one of them as a result. We finally met up for beers a year ago in Frankfurt of all places. He said Charlton fans will always be welcome at Dale. All down to this forum.
    That's the fella, cheers Prague.

It’s the only form of social media I use and have ever used - there’s nearly always something to discuss and normally the debates can be lively but stop short of crossing the line -we all input to that obviously but the credit must go to AFKA and the team who steer the ship. There’s a huge number that have been on here for years - any deliberate wind up merchants or imposters masquerading from other clubs are easily identified - just like any other well established club - that’s life

It has some really funny posters, and some that take themselves very seriously… this is an excellent mix for creating a very entertaining & amusing forum imo.

In answer to the OP - Charlton Life is not a forum - it is a group of people with common antecedents, who support each other, take the piss out of each other, disagree at times but make up, share the most personal things about their lives with no risk of being judged. It is full of wit and wisdom - both shared unreservedly, and as far as football is concerned it is most knowledgeable.

So, not a Forum - rather a family. And that is what makes it very, very special.
You're right, it is a family forum, and you know what family do? We support eachother.

So here is a hyperlink to subscribe to my youtube channel for all things Charlton Athletic:

My wife moans about how much time I spend on Charlton Life but at the same times asks if there are any new TV recommendations on here!

Its the breadth and quality of discussions plus a shared love of CAFC that make it a great place. Even the tame Millwall supporters who have infiltrated the forum contribute, rather than detract from it.

This forum is a lot older than most - don't forget the majority of longstanding posters came over from the original Netaddicks, so there's a huge history behind it. That really helps, as a lot of posters will have 'known' each other for over 20 years

I think the ability to have an opinion that differs from others and it be debated/discussed with respect and not just shot down for being different is sorely lacking in the world currently. CL manages to do this really well in all things life and Charlton while still keeping/creating humour.

You must have access to a sub section of the forum I don’t. When I post an opinion that differs from others it gets picked apart by Callum and his statistics, Off it questions if I am an AI bot and Leroy calls me a melt.

But despite all that I wouldn’t have it any other way 👍🏻

Ha. This is why I have embraced the role I have been given by the Charlton Life big hitters.

Credit has to go to whoever introduced @LoOkOuT to @AFKABartram and persuaded them to combine their ideas and create this forum.

But do I ever get any thanks for that? Not even a Xmas card.

A diverse and bombastic group of posters, who are not guarded when it comes to offering an opinion on any subject or countering someones post. But, we all have one thing close to our heart, chocolate hobnobs... sorry I meant Charlton Athletic!

It works well and long may it continue to do so.

I’ve always appreciated Admins very fair and easy to follow accounting procedures.
I pay by annual standing order……I realise they’re almost certain to put up the fees by £50 or so now that we are back in The Championship, it’s understandable I guess.
Still, at £250 per season it’s well worth it IMHO.👊

I'm developing a chat site 'Life is Charlton' .. you can buy a 10% share for a give away £5,000, cash only  o:)

I’ll give it some serious thought Lincs…….will my Coutts Bank Account details suffice……should my financial advisors give me the go ahead.

And you are both very well balanced characters in addition to your joint appreciation of the film Frozen

My job as a football shirt seller often involves me going into fan forums and asking for details about various shirts, matches, players, signature identification, so on and so on. And they're all shite! Two threads a week, three active users, etc. Why is Charlton Life so massive? It's bigger than a lot of Premier League forums too! There's like 1000 different threads all going at the same time, there's forum micro-celebrities, there's in jokes, there's a nice community spirit. It feels like honestly I could bin off all other social media and just use this and I wouldn't really miss out on anything. Why does this forum stand out in this way?
Well, there’s only one with me on it.

I also think that in a funny way the team being generally shit over the last 15 years has helped - no one else is going to bother writing about us much so this is the place to be !

    Oh I don’t know Henners.

Some people say Nathan is opinionated and insufferable…
