Why is Charlton Life so so good?

My job as a football shirt seller often involves me going into fan forums and asking for details about various shirts, matches, players, signature identification, so on and so on. And they're all shite! Two threads a week, three active users, etc. Why is Charlton Life so massive? It's bigger than a lot of Premier League forums too! There's like 1000 different threads all going at the same time, there's forum micro-celebrities, there's in jokes, there's a nice community spirit. It feels like honestly I could bin off all other social media and just use this and I wouldn't really miss out on anything. Why does this forum stand out in this way?

Because of the outstanding long standing posters that educate and bring humour, it is a balm to all life's suffering.  All except me, as I am just a prize plum.

I agree with the OP. When you visit other forums you wonder how they put up with it. They’re either dead or completely overrun with people starting variations of the same thread. They look shit too.

Well.I hear forum magnate Viktor Maes from Belgium is close to finalising a deal to take Charlton life into his family of forums across Europe where this forum will be able to integrate and share opinions with forums in his current portfolio.

These include the likes of; The Budapest menopausal women Net and Goat herders across the Alps chat.
Admin will be led by Cat Smears, Maes former press secretary (old bit on the side)

    Good times!

It's been a fucking massive distraction from work unfortunately, even now when I've got 5 exams to go in the next 2 weeks, I can't help but keep buying and selling stuff. It's like an addiction lol. Taking a year out before I go to uni and I'm really hoping I can scale it up to something massive, obvs not expecting to do it full time, and will have to get a 'proper job' to make some 'real money', but if I can get a website up and running next year I'd be over the moon

That's exactly what I've done. No need for X, Facebook, Instagram, when we have a great community here with threads on any subject available.

I receive Charlton news from the clubs official WhatsApp channel, which is basically what they post on the other social media channels anyway.

The layout of the site is so much better than other forums.
The diverse range of subjects covered is my particular favourite.

We need a counterbalance for the turgid shite that has been served up to us on and off the pitch at Charlton. When something you love is in distress a social outlet is the perfect antidote.
Most of us (I assume) also have short attention spans and are all on the promote quest; so here we are posting everyday 😄.
We are quite a friendly bunch, that always tends to help create a strong community .
It reminds me a little of the local pub, but without the open fire, beer , bar food and free peanuts. But in the sense of topics covers and jokes and chit-chat.

Think @carly burnis on to something, we’d definitely be open to a strategic link up with Eastern European menopausal women

Not wanting to downplay how good this site is but I’ve often asked myself instead ’why are other fans forums so bad?' I don’t look at them much but when I do they all look so messy.

In addition to presentation,  the content on here is generally much better too. Often, posters take the time to write thought out paragraphs in a cohesive manner.

The only things I don’t like are:

    1. Links to X

    2. Threads getting taken down too easily when there has been no good reason. A topic may have the potential to be inflammatory but so long as it hasn’t become so then let it be please.

    3. The virtual ban on discussing politics.

    4. Too many uses of ’would of’😉

I would of embedded links to X, but it stopped working a few years ago.
