I was really impressed with the thoughtfulness of all in my block (127). There were a few who clearly needed to sit & everybody tried to sit for most of the game. To the point that some were thanked for their kindness.
I love our fans sometimes, especially as I get older.11 -

You guys got lucky then. Two rows in front of me in 537 were a bunch of twats who verbally abused the stewardess when she asked them to sit down, smoked in their seats throughout and really need to look after their chubby mate better as he's either got a a dodgy prostate, a drinking problem, or (most likely) a cocaine addiction.5

The pictures and signage in Boxpark were a nice touch too.0

Feel for any young kid or less able bodied fan that was unable to see anything thanks to the fat ar*e of the numpty in front. I'd ask for a refund.2 -

Why did some of our so called fans come back to their seat after 55 minutes and miss 10 minutes of the 2nd half ?
I know on the fifth level there were queues for the Loo's and the high percentage of alcoholics at football matches always need another drink but it was a Play off final not some boring low key game when we are mid table at Accrington Stanley or Fleetwood.
Wear your Tena pants to absorb 🥵 and don't miss a second of the game 😀

Im not one to judge as I regularly duck out early and return to my seat late at the valley, but it did make me laugh!0 -

No we are judging fans by how much they want to watch Charlton at Wembley which doesn't happen very often.

Anyway i got back to the game at about 55 mins, i had a look around when i came out of the toilet and people were just standing round having/queing for a food/drink which i thought was strange..
Secondly, anyone else think the heart attack thing was out of place? I mean i understand that its good gesture and needs to be made aware but there is a place and time. Who needs to see/hear a heart beat 1 min before the biggest game of the season when tension is already high.1 -

Thanks for answering my Question and confirming what I thought that many were only there for the beer and treating the day like a Beano. With 40k in the Charlton sections its not a total surprise that the match was just part of the day and not the most important match we had played in over 5 years for some people.

Didn't move from my seat area all match. Mainly because I was so high up the vertigo would have had me rolling down the stairs. Next time I'll be lower down. Should have learnt last time0

I genuinely don't understand this attitude that comes out whenever we get a big crowd. People start trying to score points and wave their dicks about as to how they're a true fan and everyone else is a plastic / tourist / "so called fan".
Everyone had to start somewhere, and Wembley is as good a place as anywhere.30 -
Not sure it's the right thread but from reading above I am of the opinion each to their own at a match, be it for the social element or determination not to miss a second. But.........I was in one of the 55* blocks and two young blokes sat next to me about 5 minutes in, were already wankered and spent the whole half chatting about who waa out that night and trying to call their mates and stand up and wave! When we scored one of them fell into an old fella behind and hurt his leg. He did apologise but by then could barely stand. They then left at 40 mins for a drink, having already drunk the 3 they snuck onto the terrace, and never returned. Guessing they found their mates or fell unconscious queueing for a wee. Baffled, but as I said each to their own i guess. But these occasions are so rare I'd want to soak it up, not be a soak!4

Blimey, I thought I was the one with the soap box 😀
To be a bigger club of course we have all types joining and I loved the fact that there was so many youngsters there.
It's just alien to me that after all the noise about getting tickets that even after 55 minutes adults aren't even watching the match live having disappeared for 25 minute since the HT whistle. How long does it take to have a piss.
It was a great day and I hope the new fans and tourists who went to the iconic wembley stadium come to the valley.
Don't turn this into a tennis match or a chuckle brother, "from me to you." as it becomes boring.
I don't wave my dick about I will leave that to you.4 - Sponsored links:

The extra unoccupied seats in 527 that weren’t made available for sale were a huge bonus for me. Was able to get from the back down to pretty much the tv camera view. Very strange why they didn’t make those available for sale.2

The irony is i give 'likes' out like confetti on Charlton Life; even to you who has only ever slagged me off.
It's a soap box not a high horse and i will continue to praise or criticise and try to explain why.
So many different persona's on CL from Oohaah who slags the world off to Callum, our super Charlton optimist from across the pond.
I give it out so I will take it.
Have a nice day in China.

Only question I have was why so few traps in the men's toilets? I was up in the gods this time, but when walking into the loo expected to see a sea of cubicles. There were 2 on each side 🥺 Nervous times for a nervous football supporter.1
-
Where I sit at the Valley I have a perfect view of the away fans bar behind the score board. It amazes me how long fans stay in the bar and miss huge chunks of the match having travelled, in many cases hundreds of miles, to be there.
Still I suppose each to their own, they paid their money just I have so they are entitled to do what they like.
Who I am I to argue if an away fan wants to pay for the over priced beer served at The Valley2 -

Was there a noticeable shortage of women toilets? We certainly had a higher percentage of women there than an organiser would probably expect for a football match2
