Deadline Day from Pg.641 - Summer 2025 Charlton Athletic Transfer Rumours

Alan Nixon probably just waffling why we would go for Blackpools 2nd choice Rb in a division above just seems absolutely bizzareSouthbank said:Jordan Gabriel being mentioned again0 -
Jones has stated he wants more athleticism and Championship experience. I think we can rule out anyone that doesn’t fit that bill. Anyone coming in is going to be big and strong.0
-

Mill ITK says we're looking at Danny McNamara0 -
Who is Danny McNamara ?
Ok. So decent experience but hardly played last season due to serious knee injury. 12 games prior to his season ending injury. No thanks.1 -
Galbraith is out of contract this summer as is Malik Mothersille at Peterborough. Only 21 but big, strong and has an eye for goal - would be well worth a lookCafcSCP said:
Pretty sure someone said Galbraith is out of contract this summercabbles said:Re: Galbraith of Orient, I know they turned down 1m for him from Swansea in Jan
Def the type of player we should be going for though
It’s going to be bloody tough without 6/7 real quality additions imo
as well as the team did this season, this is a massive step up. Godden has been class and is absolutely worth keeping, but Coventry, a competitive team in the championship felt it was the right time to move him on. Similar Docherty. I like both of them, but thinking 6 years on from when we were last in the championship, it seems like it’s even harder. You can’t argue with NJ’s approach and how it’s got us out this league and the focus on clean sheets, but I’m thinking, replicating that type of approach with the current players against some of the teams we’re gonna be up against 🤯 - going to be very tough4 -
The least believable part of that is Alex Mitchell returning to Millwall, having struggled to get in a L1 side for the second half of the season.Foxycafc said:

Full back, 13 Championship games last season but must have been injured as 33, 42 & 37 the seasons beforeShootersHillGuru said:Who is Danny McNamara ?

Born in Sidcup - strong South East London name...0

I agree with that. I imagine that they are on lower wages than than the Luton players and might be a more realistic option in that regard.killerandflash said:
If we're going to raid a relegated Championship club, I'd rather look at Plymouth. They looked a decent side, and only went down because of the Rooney effect at the start of the season.Bedsaddick said:I definitely think jones will dip into the Luton Town locker again . Not sure how many players are still there when Jones was there or even if they are good enough as last season might indicate.
Mustapha Bundu is out of contract. He's one I hope we're interested in.
If we do go the Luton route, Jordan Clark might be of interest. On the older side at 31, but Jones knows him well and he's not one of Luton's big earners (using online info for that nugget, so might be wrong). 40 Champ appearances last season (37 starts).0 -
McNamara coming I could believe. But Mitchell back as part of the deal is absolutely ludicrous! He didn’t play a single minute for Millwall, and that was with Neil Harris there, who loves a trier. Why on earth would they accept him in part exchange, when they are due a % if Charlton sell & they could get money for McNamara from someone like Rowett at Oxford!Foxycafc said:

Adebayjo too.
Carlton Morris is the only name that comes to mind really but probably way out of our budget for a striker.Bedsaddick said:I definitely think jones will dip into the Luton Town locker again . Luton spent 6M on him in Jan no chance we would get himFerryman said:

We really don't need a 3rd Jones in the club. It would be impossible to keep up.Ferryman said:

Orient have the option to extend Galbraith’s contract by another year he won’t be a free agent this summerSwisdom said:

Luton went up ( and now down granted) on a useful budget. Don't think you have to spend loads, just wisely. Think NJ has got this organised

Whenever I've seen him, the only danger he looked like causing was tripping over his own bootlaces

Not that it matters, but I went to primary and secondary school with himShootersHillGuru said:Who is Danny McNamara ?

I'd definitely be having a look at Peterborough this summer. Thought jade-jones looked class against us in the last game.Lazy_eye_metaphor said:Valley11 said:Malik Mothersille would be a decent signing. He looked dangerous in the games v Posh. 6ft2 tricky winger/striker. 21 and from south London.

Edit. Just seen he is out of contract this summer.0 -

Except the time he scored one and assisted one against us in the 3-0 Posh win. Added to the other 8 assists and 11 goals he got in the league last season.Lazy_eye_metaphor said:Valley11 said:Malik Mothersille would be a decent signing. Heard second hand from a Wrexham player that he expects them to be throwing big money around this Summer.1
-
I think it’s quite possible. They have back to back promotions and are one more away from the ultimate fairytale. They have glitz and glamour right now but three or four seasons in The Championship and it will soon begin to tarnish and the interest will fade. I can see them going full out to try and achieve the seemingly impossible in one maybe two attempts. I don’t see them managing it though.J BLOCK said:Heard second hand from a Wrexham player that he expects them to be throwing big money around this Summer.2 -
I'm glad you're not in charge of our recruitmentGisappointed said:Asiimwe seems highly competent back up to Small and perhaps Ramsay on todays showing. Only 20. Step up on Watson.
Mbick is going to be better than Leaburn and Enslin will make a mark
Perhaps all on bench, but cuts down on recruitment.

And Berry has scored as many league goals as TC...Gisappointed said:All mediocre scorers on Statbank. Doc, the skipper, was dropped for a few matches because he was so crap. Berry our only 10 until January. Our main weakness has been in midfield. Even Coventry with his backpasses was poor until Xmas, but we have never controlled games despite the experience of LB and GD.
So why hasn't he got a song?
If they get us to the Championship , I'll write every one of them a song. You asked for it....🎶 Goalkeepers

If Chuks is leaving, it's the right time.
He has just been promoted with us, played his part in the play-offs and has had some good moments with us.
I think that's a good send off for him, and we are going to need that extra slot cause I can't see us shifting someone like Ahadme.16 -
